Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I'm psyched for grilling tonight, as well as grilling again on Sunday, some cheap $10 card small 4-6 man tourny, and then possibly depending on how the beer is flowing playing my buddy who has the 7 for life something cheap afterwards on the ol table....should be a fun weekend.

Well, I might get carried away with this sometimes, but it's not only about how I feel. I have talked to so many people in the last few days that feel as I do about him. They go on to tell me what he has done to them or to someone they know, around pool or in general. So really when I am goin off on here, it's not only for me, but for others as well. Some of the things I heard today were unbelievable!! It's not just local people, it's statewide!! And I actually think he thinks he's a good person!

Sorry to those few of you out there that I have offended with my degrading of Mike Athens, but I won't be sorry for how I feel or how the other people feel that have been wronged by him in the past. If someone else decides to call him what he is, on here, I'm gonna agree 100%! If I disagree with someone who thinks he's a great guy, I will voice my opinion. I usually don't hold back from saying what's on my mind. I wouldn't hold back on anyone else who is like him either. Sometimes I take it a little too far, but when it comes down to it, I am only being honest.

Why is it that the only one posting on here about matching people up hasn't included his name in any of the games. The only game I have ever heard of Jon playing he backed out of, if you insist on getting Mike in a game why don't you play him and stop talking crap all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike has said no, multiple times. It is nothing to do with Jon's game. Mike and Jon don't like each other and Mike doesn't want to bother playing him. <----This is perfectly understandable.

Big 8-Ball tourney coming up guys, I think it would be great if everyone came out. I'm putting my name in the hat to run the calcutta since I know I will be active in it I won't be letting anyone go cheap that can run more than 3 balls in a row! Hopefully someone somewhere wants me to run it, if not me I'd hope for someone like Jason Chance or Jody or someone else who can run their mouth and get the money up for it.

Oh and cross your fingers the Pool4u crew that I've worked with twice just may be coming to stream the event. I think this tournament will be a very good one and I am overly optimistic for it, I dont even like 8-Ball but I agree its the best format for this tourney.

If any of you guys know any good players call them and tell them to come. I've talked to Quad Cities guys, Minnesota guys, and a couple of Kansas City guys, looks like this thing will be loaded with talents and some donkeys like myself to help the draw out!
