Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Mikey,

Is there a person alive, that's bet more than $100 a set, in the lower 48 that you don't have the line on? :joyful:

There's this snooker table in Valentine, NE....

LOL kind of funny and kind of true though. I just seem to know someone who's beat most of the people that woof giving up spots. Then I do a little computation and come up with something I will bet on. I'm right some of the time and wrong some of the time. Moral of the story is I just like to sweat stuff if I got to see it. It pays to have friends. That's why when I leave town I always make money.

With that said I know who I will bet on when Jamie and Matt play, I have told everyone that both of them can win and should win. Hopefully the side I don't like will bet a couple hundred or something like that.

I also know who I like if Shuff and Jesse play some one pocket cause I know who they've been playing and who's been winning. That's not online.

As for not always having the right line...who does? A line don't mean it's a lock, a line is just saying what's close to fair. A line makes it gambling.

Action

Today we are going to define two phrases used in the pool world and then do a pop quiz.

1. Kicking someones ass: This term is used when someone lays the beat down on another player in whatever game they are playing. For example someone is playing a race to 11 in nine ball and wins 11-1.

2. Breaking even: When two players bet a certain dollar amount playing a game, or match, or set...and at the end of play no money is exchanged because player 1 and player 2 both won the same amount of games, matches, or sets.

Today's math/story problem...2 players are playing bank pool and at the end of the games $0 is exchanged because each player won 2 games. Would you say that #1 of the phrases above happened, or #2? Please make sure to show your work to at least receive partial credit.

Frost - A little birdy told me that Sunday night after I left player 1 said he did #1 of the phrases above to player #2. Since $0 was exchanged I would guess that #2 happened but that is just me. Player #2 (ME) would like to play some bank pool with player #1 (Rookie) on the bar box diamond table this Friday. We were betting $10 a game last Sunday so let's up that a bit. Race to 3 for $50 post minimum 3 sets sound about right? Since you know him and I don't please relay this message and let me know. This window is WTFO.

First of all I love WTFO, I assume that means wide the 'f' open! That's hilarious. I played yesterday and Monday and I have heard all about this bank game. It doesn't help when people tell him to his face you got an edge. I told him I would like to bet on each game taking 15 minutes or more and that somehow didn't help either.

With that said. He wants to play on a big table for sure. He said you shoot straighter than him so that's why. I always say set on each when this discussion starts. 2 sets on each table would be fair.

Spimp also remember you have to fade the fact he will bet his last nickel on Jamie when that game happens and other action. I think he should play though, he knows some of the shots and doesn't bank bad. I'd suggest 4 or 5 ahead for a $100 on each table. Racing to 3 is very short in a game like that. You could also race to a certain number of banks made like 25 and then you will get a real winner.

I'll text him and find out.

When is the Jamie match? Here's the problem, people are saying I have the edge because they think Matt from 2003-2005 is playing not Matt from 2010. I don't play as well as I used to and all my close friends know this. How often does anyone see me at Big Dogs? Crickets...How often do people see me in tournaments? Crickets...How often do people see me gamble? Crickets....I play in Thursday league between APA and BCA/Valley and that is about it besides drinking one night on the weekend. I don't ever play on the big table so that is most likely out unless he wants to spot me something. I will play on the barbox. We can manipulate the dollar amount and race, but the big box is out without a spot.

Tell Rook I will play him 5-4 for 30 a game on the big table or we can play full rack and he can play 9-7. You know, just for practice

Since I haven't really been in Big Dogs lately, can I use this reasoning too?

My apologies Mike. I forgot today is sarcastic Wednesday. Let me change the words "Big Dogs" to "ANYWHERE"...there is that better? Last time I checked, you have gambled a lot more than I have in Big Dogs and have played in slightly more tournaments than I have. Need I go on, because I can if need be.... Let me ask you or anyone this about the big table...who sees me play on a big table anywhere for gamble or practice? And no I don't have a big table at my house and can give you or anyone directions to stop by if they don't believe me. Ding fries are done.

Rookie don't want to play on the bar table unless you give up some weight!

Troy don't be one of the vultures man! You know you were laughing as you typed that, I'll rephrase for you.

"Tell Rook I will play him 6-4 for 30 a game on the big table or we can play full rack and he can play 9-6. You know, just for practice"

That's probably a little more fair. You bank better than all of us son.

I told Rookie i didn't think you (matt) even knew how to play banks, lol.

Then told him you wanted to jack the bet, he said you can have all you want.

Didn't know this had been discussed further.

I hope you guys play, would be fun to watch.

No shit, which is why we had to call you on a rule I didn't know in question. I did have a lot of alcohol I do admit, but that actually makes me shoot straighter to an extent until it gets to sloppy drunk. I don't recall offering to jack the bet at Stix, Jimmy and my buddy Tim who was there would have to verify if I did. I only offered to jack the bet on here after he was telling people he kicked my ass including my girlfriend who he didn't know was my gf at the time. I don't have to play this game, won't hurt my feelings a bit.

seems logical :)

Don't be scared Mr. Mitchell, Dennis is not around haha!
