As one who stops at Schon at least once a year or so, for this or that, it's a real treat. It's quite big for the few employees they have. You're not just walking into the front office per say, but basically right into the factory. You get to see all the latest cues they are working on, hundreds of them sitting in racks, either waiting for final finishing, or waiting to be shipped out. Last time there, there was about 50-75 no wrap versions waiting to be shipped out along with many others.
One thing I learned is if you stop at break time, be patient as they love to shoot pool on break, on their old Gold Crown. Just sit and watch and when break is over, they'll answer your questions or needs.
One time I stupidly cracked a butt cap on a new SP cue I recently purchased and was going right by Schon a week or so later on a trip to Racine so I stopped in on a Friday morning to drop it off. One of the guys looked at it and told me he was the one who designed it, and also a great story on the woods in it. When I told him I was in town for the weekend, he looked at me and said he didn't think he could get it done that day. I told him I wasn't expecting that, so he said he'd call when it was done, Well Monday morning he called to say my cue was done and was wondering if I still was in town. Told him sadly no, so send it. One day service on replacing a butt cap.
Great shop, great people, just need some new design help, but I seriously like the 4 that I have and am always looking for more.
