Can't let players like Chua hang around. Only a matter of time before he finds his stroke.
Did he act like a tantrum-throwing 2 year old or did he manage to hold himself together and act like a mopey 12 year old?Earl 0-6![]()
Chua looked tired until the very end. Some uncharacteristic mistakes and misses. But Quinten Pongers let him off the hook. Any top 20 player would have sent Chua to the one-loss side. He needs a day off and will get it.Chua ended up pulling out the victory 9-7.
Anyone noticed that Chua played the last few racks at absolute blazing speed, especially that last rack? He even would go down on several shots before the CB even stopped rolling...literally. Not sure if that was to psych himself up, or psych out Pongers. Chua might have been annoyed by Pongers very extended break right after Chua got on the hill.
It looks like 28 tables are in action according to the live scores. Maybe 4 TV tables and 24 others? Or maybe some practice tables are being used for matches.... there are 24 playing tables and 6 practice tables.
Isn't wolford one of those players these forums hate because all he does is play in bar table tournaments the majority of the time?Wolford showed a lot of promise in the Mosconi Cup a few years ago.
What the hell happened?
Yep, it was Abdullah who I was thinking of. Speaking of which, what happened to him and Omar? They were traveling buddies for all of those tournaments then and they just disappeared.abdullah alyousef, the kuwaiti with the greying beard? omar al shaheen?
That was bad. Tables 1&3 seem to be awful stingy.Wolford collapses against JJ
I think Pongers was annoyed by Chua’s soft breaking in the last few racks. Chua should have been called out, but I haven’t seen him do that before.Chua ended up pulling out the victory 9-7.

Probably bergman if he wanted to be on tourSurprise of the day might be Alex Bausch beating Mario He and Lin Ta Li on the first day.
Got me wondering: Who is the best native-born American player after SVB, Sky and Styer.
Oscar is still the guy, it seems, but he is not a WNT regular. Semi-regular now.
A few years ago it looked like Wolford would eventually be the one. No longer. He has plateaued. Doesn’t play all the big events and makes too many mistakes.
He still might be the fifth or sixth best American active on the WNT circuit, but not by much. Got married since the Mosconi and needs to earn a living. Not easy for more than a few US players to get sponsorship money.
Then there’s Billy Thorpe. He’s always been a tease. Still haven’t seen the evidence he can be a top 25 player globally.
Sam Henderson gets some buzz and he still is very young. Long way to go, though.
Fracasso-Verner keeps improving. Not spectacular, but steady. Just haven’t seen that extra gear you’d expect to see glimpses of in a player who is 23 years old.
Someone is going to emerge eventually, but I just don’t know who.
Announcers agreed, that last weeks event/travel etc. Wore em down and he showed it.Can't let players like Chua hang around. Only a matter of time before he finds his stroke.
Shane plays all tables and bets his own playing whatever. One of the best out there.Isn't wolford one of those players these forums hate because all he does is play in bar table tournaments the majority of the time?
