Using a Chohan highlight reel as a selling point for the excitement of one pocket seems like false advertisement when 90% of one pocket matches don't even come close to what's in the video.
I've seen him play a few times in person. His matches are peppered with shots like these but not one after the other. The game is still slow and only enjoyed by purists. You really think a game this slow(and somewhat confusing at times) has ANY chance against cornhole for air-time? Dream on.

I think one pocket could be great for the general audience, but some changes would need to be made to make it a bit quicker.
No way to speed it up enough and still have anything close to the same game. The 'Grady Rule' helps but its always going to bore regular sports fans TO DEATH. Hell, i've got friends that play/love pool that wouldn't get out of the electric-chair to sweat one-hole. Its always going to be a niche game and i'm cool with that.
Monetize the sport and show a profit is important!

Have proven that pool brings in revenue for the casino and makes them money!!!
Anyone of the casino chains could save pool and gobble up the game! It makes financial sense for them!
The casino during these events make enormous profits during these events and high rollers everywhere....
If the casino ever cut out the middle men and set up events at their casinos worldwide and fly the players around together to save money and piggyback on poker events. They could leverage significantly big revenue....

I live in casino-packed state, Oklahoma. They are full EVERY nite regardless of who's at them. I seriously doubt casino's have any interest in 'saving' pro pool. Card players outnumber pool players by a factor of AT LEAST 20/1, probably way higher.
I think it would be a no go for the general audience. It's boring, it's contrived, it's a bit daft. I love it, I find it exiting and meaningful and a well designed game. But that's just me and a few others. There is no way one pocket could catch on.
This reminds me of a funny deal: A few yrs ago me and a buddy were playing some cheap 1p. A couple of ball-bangers stopped to watch us play. After a few minutes they shuffled off, one of them saying to the other " Those guys are the worst 8ball players i've ever seen". Some funny shit right there.
After a couple of misses by both players Yapp makes it 3-2 Orcollo
The only time one-pocket is fun to watch is when Sigel goes 150 and out.
Yapp won lag, miss pot on 1 off the rail.
Dennis runs out and next 2 racks to lead 3-0
Rack 4 was hung rack- Dennis hung 1, Yapp hung 8, Dennis hung 9 and finally Yapp makes it to trail 1-3
Rack 5 Yapp breaks dry. Two missed balls and Yapp wins rack for 2-3
Both still trying to settle down. Still too close to call but I think Yapp has the edge cos he had more time on this TV table and has slightly better break

You walk in the casino and they have an entertainment budget to attract people to come to the casino.....typically singers and comedians... a sporting event is highly more efficient at bringing in the gambling crowd....especially pool...

It's an interesting concept and I can see why people like it as a gambling game, there is obviously a high level of skill and strategy involved, but I struggle to see it appealing to a mass audience.
I'd potentially give it a go to play, but even then I can imagine the pace of the game could be frustrating.
