For those who need a refresher, here's the US Open prize fund breakdown as reported in Roberta Agnor's thread:

1st $30,000
2nd $15,000
3rd $10,000
4th $7,500
5th – 6th $6,000 each
7th – 8th $4,500 each
9th – 12th $3,500 each
13th – 16th $3,000 each
17th – 24th $2,500 each
25th – 32nd $2,000 each
33rd – 48th $1,500 each

For those who always say that you have to come in the top 5 in a pool tournament to cover expenses, this should be a refreshing change. For US based players, airfare, six days hotel sharing with a pro player roommate plus the entry fee shouldn't exceed $2,000 in costs, so it looks to me like any US based player finishing in the top 32 will at least cover expenses.

Yes, we'd like it to be even better than that, but this isn't too bad. Of course, the economics are tougher for those who have come here from abroad.

Good luck to the remaining 48 players. Play on, gentlemen.

Maybe they'll add another $500 somewhere to make it add up to the reported $170,000. On the other hand, since the number of entrants was a couple short of the targeted 128, maybe they'll leave it alone or deduct a bit somewhere.

Yeah, given the field of 126, the added money promised seems to have been delivered.

This is one thing I like about the US Open......it pays deep.
The game cannot be supported by top heavy payouts....too many losers are created....
.....and eventually they quit.

I've had no stream for 9 minutes now.

Edit -- returned after 11 min.

Mine is back.

Yup; mine came back after 11 minutes. I see they are restarting the stream now, so maybe they were well aware of the outage.

Fortunately, I was able to deduce the break results during the outage based on the match score and what the commentators said after the stream returned.

That kind of commitment is why you are a leading candidate for MVP of the forum.
