we got the 10 best players in Taiwan joining the event (it's unfortunate though, Lo Li-Wen is not on the list. i've seen him play live, he's really good), the best of China - Wu, Wang Can and Chu Bing-Jie, the Greeks, the Russians, the Japanese (still hoping Yukio, Hijikata Hayato and Kabawata can join). This would really be a tough field!

I think Lo Li-Wen is representing Japan now?
With their pro tour no longer there, more Taiwanese players will take part in international opens these day.
im not sure. i know he lives in Japan though, just not sure what country he's representing.

I'm pleased that Pat Fleming has selected me to be the Tournament Director for the 2016 US Open 9-Ball Championships.
I've know Pat for more than 30 years and we have worked together in the past on many events, including the Accu-Stats Make-It-Happen Invitationals.
I was the Assistant TD (to Jay Helfert) at last year's US Open, and have worked with Barry Behrman at the US Open many times as a referee.
Under the steady hand of Pat Fleming, the new Tournament Promoter, this 41st US Open promises to be the best ever.

No, Scott Smith will not be part of this year's crew.
Ken Shuman will be the MC and the referee in the Accu-Stats TV Arena.
In addition to myself, there will be area referees monitoring play on the other tables.
I think it's worth noting that the World's #1 Fargo-ranked player, Jiaqing Wu from China, will be competing in this year's US Open 9-Ball Championships.
I've never seen him in person and I doubt that many Americans have ever seen him compete, either.
This year's field is extraordinary.

This is easily US Open with the strongest field ever
Last year's field was touted as stronger ever but this year's beats it. At least few dozen players can win whole thing

Anyone familiar with any of them?
If I counted correctly, 73 (46%) of the 160 entries are from the USA.
And now the players from Cameroon are all off the list. Wonder if someone bounced a cheque.
Or maybe it was a visa issue. It's very, very late to arrange travel to the US from some countries.
And Manny Chau was added, The USA needs 6 or 7 of the 7 remaining spots to have at least half the field.
