heaven forbid they should play unsponsored and pay their own way like the rest of the field
Unfortunately, based on the some of the things that have happened over there in the last year, the consequences could run deeper than just paying their own way. I havent heard or read anything, so that is purely speculation.

Efren and Busta not showing up has zero to do with Philippine pool politics.
Gomez, Alcano and Corteza are in the same group with Efren and Busta.
You are very wrong on this subject.
There are several different reasons why Alex Pagulayan, Radolfo Luat, Efren Reyes, Dennis Orcullo and Fransisco Bustamante is not playing in the US Open, and the ongoing "fight" with the BSCP/WPA has absolutely nothing to do with it.
If they had registered for the event, they would have been more than welcomed to play, just like Lee Van Corteza, Warren Kiamco, Roberto Gomez and Ronato Alcano, who are all members of the three stables Negros, Bugsy and Puyat.
I'll leave it at that.
