Yeah, not a vintage year by Dennis standards, but certainly not a slump.
Agree, he almost snapped both 9&10 at the Tornado (which he should've cept that horrible $6k miscue

No doubt he's great player in the US but he's always fallen short of the finishing line when it comes to the big stage despite all the hype about him.
Never won a world championship nor Us open , the two most coveted title in pool history.
Got bbq by Shane recently, cracking under pressure to Shane last year open and to D.Appleton in a big prize money competition "challenge of champions " !!
In fact , he hasnt even make a wpc final appearance yet !
Seems to have a mental block of going thru the final hurdle !
Been following some of his matches for sometime, it seems that his break is not consistent (like the same problem with Efren, but not that bad) Otherwise his cb ctrl is a joy to watch, I believe he shall score a world title in the near future :thumbup2:
Dennis does have a World title , the World 8 Ball . Like the World 10 ball, the World 8 ball is not held every year due to economic reasons or other etc.

ORCULLO IN A SLUMP?
In the past six months, he has won the Super Billiards 10-ball, the US Open 8-ball and the Texas Tornado 10-ball. He tied for 5th at the World 9-ball Championships.
An impressive slump to be sure.
He also won the US Open 10 ball at a time when it was on the big tables- also when the field was tougher than the US Open 9 ball.Dennis does have a World title , the World 8 Ball . Like the World 10 ball, the World 8 ball is not held every year due to economic reasons or other etc.

Would love to see Ko and Shane rematch. If SVB wins the open who is player of the year? Ko has W9ball, W10ball and WCOP. Shane has WPMasters, Challenge Of Champions and if he gets US Open that's 3 big tournaments a piece?
Justin Bergman for at least Semi Finals.

Not sure.
Dennis does not seem to play with the same confidence and killer instinct he once did. The old Dennis was a feared player who intimidated his opponents and never seemed to show any sense of nerves.
Recently Dennis does not look like the old stone cold killer he once was. He shows a lot of emotion, gets down on himself fairly easy, and his negativity shows weakness to his opponents and they attack it. Dennis can still play awesome and can still outrun his opponents more often than not, but he is certainly now seen as beatable and no longer has that ability to intimidate players he once did.
I think the last few encounters with SVB reaching all the way back to TAR have nearly neutered Dennis when it comes to him having to play SVB. He comes into matches with SVB looking like he already expects to lose, he looks nervous, little things bug him early in matches, and he folds like a kite. I would say SVB is a fairly strong favorite in a match with Dennis at this point, not just because SVB plays so good, but because Dennis simply does not seem to believe he can play at SVB's level anymore and goes into matches thinking he is a clear underdog who needs to pull off an upset. That is a tough spot to be in, especially when you "used" to be the most feared player on the planet.
TBH, I think Dennis O from 5 years ago would spot the Dennis of today the 8-ball in an ahead set of 10-ball, and he would win easily. The reason for that is not shooting ability, it is simply the mental game and the fact that I think Dennis O from 5 years ago was a far stronger player mentally than the Dennis O we are seeing today.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Alex Pagulayan is going to win it all this year.
It's not even close Ko is
1
I think this year is Justin Hall's year provided he actually plays, I know he's in the waiting list, so fingers crossed that he plays.
I don't think his head is in it anymore.....poker has overtaken him.....be shocked if he goes very deep at all......:
