Barry strikes again- When will he learn that he needs help writing these releases?

We anticipate a record number of foreign players this year. Players from London, Republic of the Philippines, Moscow, Scotland, Iceland, Uruguay, Netherlands, Amsterdam, Great Britain, Japan, Tokyo, Mexico, & Canada to name a few will be representing their respected countries.

Oy Vey!

Oh Vey!
So far they've got 150 paid entries, majority are foreigners so maybe...

Check out US OPEN (Tennis) now going on...whats the ratio? It's straight math. World / USA Population x $ = The current ratio :D

Yes but he did cheat a little, I love the way he seperated London and Scotland from Great Britain, oh and Amsterdam from Netherlands, and okyo from Japan, and Canada from the USA, os sorry that ones correct (he he) :D

I think he said there was about 167 or something when he called me (yes he called me from the US because the website was working with me credit card, not bad service)

How about 'representing their respected countries'? That's my favorite.

I was checking out the list, Wendy, and currently, Canada has the most players from the other foreign countries, with 8 confirmed and paid. Phillipines has only 3 confirmed and paid at this time, which was surprising. No Taiwanese players have committed to compete in the U.S. Open as of this time.

In the United States, Florida is the most represented State, with 20 players on the list. Rodney Morris is listed as from the State of Hawaii, but I think he lives in Florida now. Second most represented State has 13 paid players from North Carolina, with Virginia coming in third place with 11 players.

To date, 25 States in the U.S. are represented.

I'm not sure if any of the above statistics mean anything, but I thought it was interesting! :p

Thanks for the good wishes, Koop! Glad to hear you're still hanging in there, too!:)

I'm down to 7 or 8 a day. Each morning, I try to go longer before I smoke the first one, gearing up for Cold Turkey Day, October 1st.

BTW, I finally unpacked all my bags from Turning Stone and found the Nativepoker.com guy's info. They call him "Buck," but his name is Lawrence Cook. The website he provided for contact is mohawkcasino.com and the toll-free number is 1(888) 622-1155.

I noticed that they listed Johnny Archer from NC. Did he move?

Jennie, looking forward to seeing you & Keith at the open!

Hi Jenn!
I don't see some names that are usually in attendance i.e. Saez, Hernandez, Rodriguez, maybe Sansouci this year? Also, I'm pretty sure that Alan Rolon and Jason Cruz from PR will be attending as well.

All in all, it looks like it's going to be a great tournament and I'm looking forward to being there! It also seems that it's going to be a packed house--Holiday Inn is sold out and a bulk of the VIP seats have been sold. Can't wait!

I'm, as usual, in Dishaw 37. :)

See you in a few weeks!

I noticed the same thing with several players. Although they have Keith living in D.C., they have Rodney coming from Hawaii. Rodney now lives in Florida. According to Keith, though, Rodney was born in Anaheim, CA. :p

I think with the previous U.S. Open winners, like Rodney and Johnny, the list seems to have the ORIGINAL place of residence at the time they won the championship title.

Timberly, I'm glad you've decided to make the trek to the Open, and it will be GREAT to see you there. I know you will have a really good time. Lots of happenings, people to meet, friends to hang out with, and matches to sweat. There will never be a dull moment. Make sure you get plenty of sleep before you come because, between Q-Masters pool room and the Chesapeake Conference Center, there will be non-stop activities, 24/7, 7 days a week! :D

BTW, in the lobby of the host hotel, adjacent to the Chesapeak Conference Center (the venue site), there is a computer available for all to use. ;)

Wendy, procrastination of entry fee payment seems to be an occupational hazard with pool players. :p

Frankie Hernandez told me a month ago that he was considering not going this year, but I'd be willing to lay odds that he'll show up! :D

I haven't seen Ginky at the Open in several years. I'm just about positive, though, that Rob Saez will be there. He's been a man on a mission as of late, and he's hitting 'em pretty strong! I admire his advertising strategy on eBay for the World Summit of Pool. Very innovative and I hope it works, too!

I can't wait either. Two weeks from today, I will be there! Looking forward to seeing you, too! :)

Hey, Wendy, does this scene look familiar? :D

I still haven't gotten a room so I guess I won't be staying at the host hotel :( It doesn't matter much anyway, it doesn't sound like I'm going to really need a room for anything other than a cat nap & shower. :p

Ah yes. It's a scene that's forever etched into my memory. Although for some reason, everytime I'm done with sweating matches at the convention center and then I head out to Q-Masters, after playing some over there, I get back to a Holiday Inn that looks like this:

What is sleep anyway? :D
