US Open Straight Pool Championships in Windsor Locks CT 4-20/24, 2016

The man chooses his words carefully. It's wise to be circumspect about what you write.
There's a lesson to be learned here... AZer?

From what I've read, I'm betting on Bob to win the whole thing.

I would be surprised if they have not been paid for the Red Shoes event. I know Red Shoes sent them the initial $600 before having the tournament and I assume John sent the rest.

Mika was asking about the tournament today. Looks like there will be some good players in the event.

Pepin and Styer are now on the list of entrants.

To avoid confusion,

CSI will be adding the full amounts of added money regardless of the field size.

$5,000 added to the one pocket
$10,000 added to the Straight Pool

Both events are limited to 48 players. It seems the fields will not fill. That is unfortunate for the players because we do these events to support the players and the game. Our events are run in an ethical and professional manner; there are no favorites, no seeding, and no sponsoring of any players. But without support of the players, it becomes difficult to put forth the efforts - time will tell.

In the meantime, I wish everyone 'good shooting'.................

CSI staff will be on hand to do PPV streaming, and although small, the field has some quality talent - so there should be some good matches

Earlier posts from you said that the amount of added money also depended on field size -- see post #3 in this thread, for example. Perhaps some potential entrants were going by those earlier statements.

But it is certainly admirable that you are not making it based on size of field.

I'm considering going up there on Saturday to be part of the crowd. What are tickets for spectators looking like? Sold out or still available?

I intend to drive up from New Jersey to watch the straight pool. About a three hour drive. What happens if there is only a field of 20. Will the tournament start at the same time?

You are probably right. Mike Davis was discussing on Facebook with Darren the fact that the 10K was only for a full field. I told him the update. Perhaps, I'll tell Darren, Mika, Thorsten, Dennis, and Warren and they can get the word out to other pros.

If thats the case, and if they are doing Round Robin's maybe smaller groups with Longer Games for the fan's !!

It's round robin. Can't set the full schedule until we know field size.
Rest assured, we will do the best we can as the situations change.

If you meant 14.1, what I heard from Mark Griffin on stream is that the player meeting is around 6 pm and the first round of matches will follow that, possibly around 6:30.

First 14.1 round now to start at 8 pm, with a second round to follow that one.
