US Open - Up To 203!

Have y'all noticed that Charlie Williams' name is on that list too? :D

7 more days for me!

Yup. I've also noticed Mika's name on the list, too, even though I'm pretty sure he said he'd never play in Barry's events again.

Up to 220 including the addition of 3 Italians.

WOW! Only 36 slots left, and still some missing Open "regulars" on the list of players. Could it be that this year's Open will fill up? Time will tell.

Great to see John Macias a/k/a LilJon is making the trek to Chesapeake Beach. With his second-place finish at the recent Texas Open, he just might be on a winning roll.

Does anyone know....

I can't remember what Frank's last name is. He's the really tall comedian that helped run the tourney in Valley Forge... helluva nice guy, really funny. I know he works a couple of different tourney's through out the yr... I see on tv that he worked the challenge of champions... does anyone know if he'll be working the open? I'm looking forward to running into him again some day... he's such a nice, funny guy! ;)

I'm sure Scott Smith will be in charge of the Open, as always. However, I was also talking to Frank at Valley Forge and he told me that he does work with Scott at times, so he may end up being there, as Scott's assistant.

One glaring omission for me is Jose Parika. He's had some decent finishes the past few years. Anyone heard if he's gonna show up?

Better late than never, as the saying goes. Jose Parica is PAID and CONFIRMED as of last night! ;)

BTW, 227 are currently PAID and CONFIRMED. Will the U.S. Open fill up? I'm thinking it might. Procrastinating pool players may get left out!

We even have ...

a player from Iceland playing in the Open.

Remember, I have updated my list, and have a Word document
in table form listed alphabetically for anyone that would like one.
Just PM me, and I will email it to you.

I'm glad you posted the alphabetized listing on this thread, Snapshot9. Hopefully, the webmaster will keep updating the players list on a daily basis.
It makes looking up players' names much easier, which brings me to my next thought.

Out of 256 players, there are 227 in, but where, oh, where is Alex Pagulayan?! :(

BABYSITTING?

It would be nice to see Alex's name on the list but he hasn't really played that many tournaments this year :(

Just noticed the list of players for the Open, and two Texas players just signed up: Sylver and David Guittierez. I did not see Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant of Texas on there.

I also noticed that Voytek from Poland was another new name. Is Voytek Partyka a/k/a BAZARUS?

230 players so far and still climbing: http://www.usopen9ballchampionships.com/05_players.php

Only 26 more slots to be filled, and there will be $22,000 added in the prize monies in addition to the $50,000! :)

__________

That is Baz. I met him a few times but haven't seen him since Laurel at the start of this PP year. Hope to see him again. He has been on the seldom scene.

FYI-- I am continuing my preparations for Cambridge/ Open events. I am getting to work at 6 am (straight to AZB!) and getting home at 5:15, at which point I begin my penance for going to the Open- domestic duties. Eat dinner about 830, try to play pool for a few minutes~30 and then tr to chill for 30min...hey look, it is 11pm. Gotta get up in 5.5 hrs. wtf! Thank God I sit down to work!

Don't let Lil Jon drink... he gets a little personal with his questions :p

This is gonna be a hell of a turnout!

Anyone know why there's an asterisk (*) next to Brandon Shuff and David Rowel [sic]?

That's him! I met him at last year's Open and he sat next to me for a while to sweat one of the matches. Quick story:

My then boyfriend who was at the Open with me thought that I was messing around with Baz because at one point, I got up to go to the ladies room and according to the ex-BF, Baz got up a few minutes afterwards and walked out in the same direction as I did. Needless to say, I was getting the extreme cold shoulder from the then BF when I got back to my seat. Sheesh!
