Coming to you live from Reno, NV!!! We're at the Grand Sierra, and we're about to kick off the US Bar Table Championship. There will be 3 championships determined, in 10 ball, 9 ball and 8 ball. The 10 ball starts today, followed by the 9 ball, then 8 ball.

Couldn't make it here? You're in luck, TAR will be live streaming the tournament play each day here. Basically TAR will be broadcasting a few days of free access and then a PPV for the final day of play for each event. As always, if you buy the whole event package, you save money. Remember, you will be getting a full day of pool for that price, and it will also be looping each night. You can get links to the PPV at www.theactionreport.com Justin thinks he will have them up later today, when he knows more about how everything will unfold. So check back at the TAR site.

You also get to experience the excellent tournament software that CSI uses for some tournaments. It's called CTS OnDemand and it does everything but play the game for the player:D The brackets will be at www.ctsondemand.com I will be putting together some pointers on how to use this tournament software to it's fullest advantage, maybe tonight. It's easy to figure out anyways, but many people don't experiment and click on other things, so they miss out on other features it has. I will start a new thread for that, so be on the look out for that.

The brackets will up a little later this morning. You can find out who's signed up and other info about the tournament, by going to http://playbca.com/Events/2012USBarTableChampionships.aspx

I got here Sat and have been helping setup the tournament the past couple of days. Today I will be running a camera for the TAR Live Stream, so that should be interesting:smile: I LOVE WORKING FOR CSI!!!! I LOVE BEING AROUND POOL!!!!!

I hope to get a blog going to share my experience here, and will work more on that tonight. Spent several hours last night working on it, but basically just got a template going, as I ran into several issues I needed to work out.

In the meantime, here's a few pics over the past few days. Look for my thread announcing the link to the blog, where I will share some video clips and more pics, along with my rambling about what I experience here:D

These photos show the beginning stages of setting up the tournament. The job that consumes the most time, is the hanging of the lights.

these photos show the TAR area being built. Also a shot of the mountains outside the venue. I'm running behind, so got to get my butt down to the floor, so will talk to ya later!!

Oh, the last photo is Mark putting down a safety while practicing with his wife. (note: while he locked her up behind those balls, she kicked at it and made it :D

Nice work Greg, and congratulations on getting a job that brings you joy and lets you be around what you love. Money is not worth everything.

I thought Bustamante was going to play, but I didn't see his name on the player list?

My goodness, what an operation. I can't fathom the man-hours it takes to put this together. Thanks for sharing Cali and thanks to all that make this happen.

I was looking at the players list and am a little surprised that other than 4-5 Canadians, there are no foreigners. I wonder why? It's not a long haul from The Swanee where many Filipinos were playing. Might it be that many foreigners don't like bar box? Or is there another big tourney going simultaneously that has lured them away?

Anyway, best of fortune in a successful event!

Update from Justin's Facebook page:
"USBTC coverage presented by OB Cues and sponsored by Kamui kicks off at 4 Eastern today with Stevie Moore vs Ernesto Dominguez. Free on TAR"

I'm disappointed that some notable pros are sitting this out, like Earl and Corey Deuel. Also, you'd think Efren and Bustamante would enter if they are still in the country. Oh well!

Red,

Who's the white haired guy attempting to finally make a ball:p? Hope I draw him! Battle of the super seniors. If I don't draw him in Reno, there always is SBE!

Bustamante should be playing right now, with Lee Brett.

Morra just beat Butera 7-5.

Busty just skunked Lee. I think Lee might have been a bit nervous possibly. He miscued on his 2nd shot or so. He just couldn't get anything going the few times he got to the table.

That shows that Lee is an intelligent man.
If Busty doesn't make a man nervous.....he's brain-dead.

i wasn't nervous at all, never am when i play.

the table in my opinion needs a lot of work doing to the rails. (also at least 10 pros have said the same thing) they are far to springy for a small table and cost me 4 or 5 racks against busty, i should of beat rob saez 5 nil and lost 5-2 because of the rails. nice looking tables but rails really do need a lot of work still, im afraid to say..

your an interesting guy lee...

Does an excellent player/pro ever say I straight up lost when they lose? It seems that everytime I hear an interview, or a really good player comes on here, they always blame the table or some sort of playing condition.
