Does anyone know where there is one for sale?

Great balls of fire! Is Louisiana going to get a carom table?

As BTS said, Paul Frankel is the one to talk to. From his website:

Office (901) 756-2594
Cell (901) 210-7251

I think there are a whole bunch of Gabriels tables in Houston -- maybe one is available.

Louisiana now has several carom tables.

Platinum Billiards in New Orleans has one, and a room soon to open on the westbank of NOLA is rumored to get a few as well.

Also, I just got one installed in my house yesterday. I'm north of the lake from New Orleans in Mandeville, if anyone wants a game (private residence).

JoeyA, I can second Beneath_the_Sur's recommendation to call Yura. He delivered my Gabriels from the northeast, did the install, and was overall awesome to work with. He keeps tables in stock but also seems to have a line on when some might come available from private residences or rooms looking to let go of one.

Thank you.

JoeyA

Thanks Bob. I spoke with Paul yesterday.

I think we will be looking to purchase a used carom table and am kind of fond of Gabriel tables in general. Louisiana does have a few carom tables but I know very little about any of them.

If anyone wants to put their two cents in about why we should get one brand over another, please feel free to share.

Thanks,

JoeyA

THANKS HomeBrewer!
I will get in touch with Yura and see what he has available.

What size and brand of table did you get?

I am going to visit Platinum Billiards to check out their table soon.

BTW, do you brew beer primarily or do you make other liquor?

Thanks,
JoeyA

I'm mainly pushing SAM the most because it is the most affordable of the top quality tables
It's elite avant the first image I put was designed with the help of the Spanish multi world champ dani Sanchez
The body frame helps to keep the heating into the table,
Very unique and fresh design to American eyes

For the price of a used Gabriel's I can have a BRAND new SAM elite table delivered to your location from the factory in Spain , just about

Other than that it's just about which you think looks better

And its all about the setup,

I got a 10 foot heated Gabriels of the previous generation, with solid rails and the welded i-beam construction. That was important to me because it's a solid piece of construction (the i-beam frame, slate and the rails are all bolted together completely) and unfortunately the room I've got it in has had subsidence issues in the past -- I needed to know I could just re-level at the legs if I ever had an issue with my floor sinking another 1/2" or so.

Before that deal came through (total blind stupid luck; I wasn't looking for it) I was dealing with beneath_the_sur for a month or so prior on lining up a SAM table and I can say he was awesome to work with, even answering questions at midnight or later, just generally enthusiastically talking billiards, etc. Hell, he's even exchanged several emails helping me with something today, so there you go.

Provided you play on a SAM and like it (the new room coming on the westbank will have some I think) I'd have no hesitation working through getting a SAM or another brand with Richard.

Other people like Ron Kilby have provided me great advice on table selection, too, and I think some of it also seems to come down to the relative difficulty of servicing heating systems if they act up, because of how they're configured by different manufacturers, although Yura's take on that was that he can fix anything, of course!

Come pass through Mandeville and hit a few on mine - I'm just 5 or 10 minutes from the base of the bridge.

I used to brew beer but haven't for several years, unfortunately.
