If there's no sidespin, you hit it.What exactly is the definition of center vertical axis and how wide is it????

If we accept that the contact point is 1mm wide, then there's an argument that "center ball" can be as wide as 2mm.A line with no width - a vertical plane through the ball's 3D center viewed edge on by the shooter.
I think some CB rotation is produced by all but the centermost tip position. If we accept that the contact point is 1mm wide, then there's an argument that "center ball" can be as wide as 2mm.
Surely this would depend on speed the ball is hit and distance between balls?FYI, the exact spot to hit the CB for instant non-sliding roll is 40% (2/5) of maximum follow (viewed from the slightly elevated perspective of a “level” cue).

As a practical question, I would define center ball as anything that doesn't produce any visible side spin. It would take some specific and exhaustive testing and/or some complicated math to figure out what exactly that width is, but I'd bet a lot it's more than an infinitesimally small width given that as a C+ player I can accomplish a "center ball" hit multiple times per rack.I think some CB rotation is produced by all but the centermost tip position.

Those that focus on CB last do more than those of us that don't.What exactly is the definition of center vertical axis and how wide is it????
I would venture a guess that 80+% of us can't hit exactly what center axis is.....or at least not nearly as often as we think we do.....
The last juice I drank had me seeing 2 cueballs! Moderation? Is that one of those new fangled energy drinks?Same goes for the Juice.......It is not a forbidden drink......Everything in moderation.....

Just like side spin, the spin/speed ratio is determined only by the tip/ball contact point (distance from center ball).Surely this would depend on speed the ball is hit
With instantaneous “natural roll”, the CB rolls naturally all the way, even as it slows down.and distance between balls?

Do you remember what they call those practice balls that are made to hold chalk marks?here is a pic from mark wilson's book on cue ball hit accuracy for various skill levels

I dont knowDo you remember what they call those practice balls that are made to hold chalk marks?
So uh that's not a flaw it's a feature? Never would have thought of that.I dont know
Does he say these are actual chalk marks? Or did he estimate what they would look like for different level players with a magic marker? Those don't look like chalk marks at all to me, that's why I ask.here is a pic from mark wilson's book on cue ball hit accuracy for various skill levels
