USPPA Reno players, did they get paid?

Do you really expect to be paid?

Jeff, Call Nick Emanual in San Jose when you are here and take his advice whatever it is. If he says go after Peppermill, USPPA owner, two cushion owner, what ever his LEGAL advice will be. Quit f$@&ing around on this thread and get into action, Action Central.

Take KY's advice and get into action.

Do you really think you are going to be paid?

Ask his old partner from the Cue Club in San Francisco--Paul Brienza-- if he thinks anyone will get paid. there is a history of money coming up short- so it surprises me that anybody expects to get a cent from him

each day that goes by the odds of collecting diminish. there is like an inherent gene in us all (some worse than others) that says time erases debt. hell, try not paying your credit card for 7 years here .... you'll literally be debt free at the end of that stretch. anyway... over and over in i do see the time erases debt manifestations- especially in pool halls. i guess on the opposite end-- if the irs is involved, time so does not ease debt.

I would probably call the Federal Authorities and get them involved.

If he's still going around playing pool, then he's not on the run. The FBI would definitely detain him, if there was evidence building around the case.

I don't know what the amount of total money he scammed but it could be a federal offense.

He would be jailed for fraud...it's almost like what Madoff did. He took everyone's money and promised a return. I know people are hoping they get paid but it comes to a point when it is better to see this man go to prison for this act. Forget the money....call the Feds.

Hey Pencil Ear!

Jeff Gregory could sure use the money you cheated him out of!

What a F___ head pencil ear is! The worst of the worst!!!

Jeff Gregory is the best of the best!

What do the supporters of Old Pencil Ear see when you see yourself in the mirror? Do you see your own pencil in your ear?

I hate pencils anyway. Too easy to erase stuff!

Non Payment

Thanks Mr. E,
I called Annigoni and asked what was going on, he said he was close to borrowing the money, but just couldn't lock it down. He says he is still trying to get the money.
Kentucky, I called the Lawyer dude Mr. Emanuel, he says that small claims is a good way to get judgement against Annigoni and the pool hall. He says he cant do much for me unless I want to give him $1000 bucks up front and he will "Lean" on Annigoni to pay the players and force a fraud issue against him. This is starting to really suck since I need the dough to pay a major medical bill coming up soon.
If anybody knows Annigoni, tell him to pay up please.

So are you going to file in small claims?

Is there a reason why you have not filed a criminal/ police report yourself yet?

just trying to get paid man.

I understand that. You should get paid, you won the tourney and deserve it. Tony is a POS for allowing this to happen and not taking care of it by now.

But I will ask the same questions again since you apparently just ignored them:

You don't need a lawyer to file in small claims, just a pen and the forms which are easily available.

You don't need a lawyer to file a police report, just some evidence of a crime being committed and the victim information (you).

You said you called a lawyer and don't want to do what they advised. Well, at this point it looks like if you guys who are owed money don't do something yourselves, nothing is going to get done.

There are people on here who have offered to help with some of these options, including me.

Being a 7+ year USPPA member, I want to see this resolved and you guys get paid. I would love to see it done in a way that everyone is happy, but if someone should get f*cked over, it is Tony, not you guys.

Get on it, posting on here telling people to call and talk to Tony and tell him to pay up is just worthless at this point.

With the help of others in this group, I put together a list (see earlier postings) of all the players (with amounts) that were suppose to get paid; additionally, everyone that played in the tournament were potentially at risk of not being paid. Why not work as a team and consolidate the funds due and have everyone agree to pay a fair percentage (25-50%) for an attorney to collect it? Getting something is better than nothing...
A good attorney would take this on contingency and could even get more money for other charges.

judgement day

I did some research with a friend and found out that Annigoni and the Two Cushion club have had several judements against them already going back to 1995. Not sure if they were ever PAID off or not.
I have also found out that people who were close to Tony are still owed several thousand dollars by him and have not been paid. One of them is the tooth.

Two Cushion Club has not been around since 1995. I don't think that Tony's partner is involved in any of his dealings. The Reno mess seems to be Tony's action. I do know that they are trying to get a beer/wine lic. and improve the cash flow in the place.

Here's a link dating back 13+ years ago for the Two Cushion Club and Tony A. so I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff was right about going back to 1995.

This place is in Fairfield Ca. It was a pool hall before and went under. Tony ended up reopening with a new backer. New place was ,is, called Two Cushion Club. I think the Monterey place went out of business a while back.

Another good suggestion, but it seems as though no one wants to do any real work to get this resolved. Oh well, I'm done trying to help.

Are you owed money from the USPPA as well?

No, but I have been a active paying USPPA member for 7+ years, and know Tony fairly well. I also know how it initiate criminal investigations with law enforcement very well.

MahnaMahna,

Man I sure wish you would/could do that! I have heard so many negative things about him over the past 30 years!

I have no personal stake in this other than wanting the players to get paid and to expose (what I believe to be) a crook.

Good luck to all!

The winner of the event, Jeff Gregory (actioncentral), is recovering from heart surgery. I don't think he's been paid yet. I hope Tony reads this ...

Chris (cabilliardclub) , owner of California Billiard Club, posted below to raise money for Jeff:

JEFF GREGORY HEART SURGERY FUND
by Chris Swart on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 8:49am

Our friend Jeff Gregory had heart surgery yesterday. His play of the past few years has really improved and he is a threat to win any tournament he enters. A few years ago when he first started one pocket, you could not leave him a shot, he would run out. Even really crazy shots, he would slam in.

He has a congenital heart value problem that he had surgery for when he was eight. Thirty or so years later and he is in again. Like most working stiffs, he has a little insurance, but he still is going to come out the other side with a huge bill to pay. Any contributions that can be made to him would greatly be appreciated by his wife and daughter. A fund will be started soon and an address will be given if you feel generous.

I have started a Jeff Gregory Fund to help offset his huge medical bills. We made an anouncement during last weekends Worldppa tournament held at California Billiard Club. We recieved $400 from the players and I matched That $400 and a little extra for a total of $837.

California Billiard Club will be hosting a 9-ball open tournament in 3 weeks, were half the proceeds will go to Jeff. I will have more details on our web site, Facebook, One pocket.org, and Azbilliards.com. If you would like to just donate to his fund just send a check to 881 E EL Camino Real, Mountain View ca 94040 or pay with credit card by calling California Billiard Club 650-965-3100 and ask for Chris Swart.

With all the players out there we should be able to make a big dent in his medical expenses.

Thanks,

Chris Swart, California Billiard Club

Tony, if you have any conscience at all, you will find a way to get some money to Jeff. I have been your friend for many years and if you value my friendship you will do the right thing by Jeff. Otherwise I hope I never see you again!
