USPS HAS DONE IT AGAIN- Three CUES LOST/DELAYED

Seems USPS is off to a rip-roarin' start in '24. I ordered one of the Rhino shafts which shipped out of San Antonio on Jan. 2. Arrived Jan. 4 in Tampa and as of Jan. 10, still no delivery to me 25 miles away. Supposedly they attempted delivery on Jan. 9, but tracking states the delivery location couldn't be accessed. I suspect they used the tropical storm here as an excuse not to attempt.

At least carbon fiber doesn't warp as easily as maple, right?!

Finally got it; took a visit to the post office and they had it there. Tracking claimed it was delivered and signed for by a fictitious name. Assume they do that to claim as they're delivering as much as possible.

Anyway, now let's see if I can make a ball with a fancy black shaft!

A few years ago I purchased a cue on AZ that USPS lost. After three or four weeks, the seller refunded my money (good guy). I believe 4 or 5 weeks later the cue arrived. How can a package that size get lost for that long?

yep if you havent realized all govt. agencies are run badly you have a lot to learn.

simple rules dont send smaller packages that can get missed or stuck in a corner. put your cues in a larger rectangle box.
if valuable,, send it registered mail. insure it if you dont send registered,,, and take pics of it going into the box and being taken by the p.o.

Rolled off the conveyor belt into a dark place? I've heard that round tubes are a bad way to ship things. Any long box might be a problem.

As for USPS, I've mostly had good results but there was the package from Dr. Dave in Colorado that went through Hawaii.🦅

on another note........has anyone else noticed/had an issue with the OBNOXIOUSLY bright headlights these f'ers use at night? Do they have a policy stating to drive around with high beams on or something? Is it just my area??

I haven't noticed that at night, but did see a national news segment this week about bright headlights causing accidents for oncoming cars. Mostly due to newer LED bulbs, which can appear extremely bright when not aligned correctly on the vehicle.

Within the last 45 days I have purchased 3 cues- two here on AZ and one on EBAY- ALL three cues were shipped by sellers USPS " PRIORITY" - the tracking was and is horrendous on all three cues- one was "gone"- out of sight for 7 days- no indication from tracking as to where it was after arriving at drop off P.O. One cue so badly delayed without proper tracking that me and the seller agreed to refund and then I repaid him once cue finally arrived, since it looked truly lost for 7 business days. One shipping box totally destroyed when it reached my home- thank God he put cue in a hard tube inside the shipping box.

Both AZ transactions ended up great for me and the seller in terms of the cue itself. My most recent cue purchase on EBAy is again currently "lost" somewhere in the USPS system- no idea from tracking since last Saturday at P.O. drop off by seller as to where the cue is today- tracking has not changed for 6 days now- no indication as to whereabouts of cue.

I stopped shipping cues USPS three years ago- I only use FED EX now- tracking is perfect every time. This is the last straw for me- will no longer buy a cue without upfront agreement not to use USPS for shipping- I'm done- 3 cues in 45 days- crazy!
They lost a shaft on me about 6 months ago. Most of the pool supply
vendors will not use them and a couple wiil
I find UPS to be cheaper, and no problems to date.

"Priority" is just a sales ploy as far as postal service goes.
Some pool supply vendors will only ship ups and will refuse the sale if
you insist on usps. They lost a pair of shafts on me about 6 months ago.
I think they get into these regional facilities and magically disappear.

looked it up and sure as shit it looks like usps in MA changed their headlights. They are absurdly bright. It is like a jet with its landing lights is coming right at you. You are completely blinded and just relying on pure luck that nothing is in the road when one of these bastards are approaching you. These posters are not exaggerating. I cant believe someone approved these lights. Seems like a huge liability for the company.

So my local PO manager explained to me the truth about tracking information on USPS.com.

It's pretty much fictitious. The information is machine-generated based on a few scans and will tell you that it has cleared a location or a regional sorting center based on a preset timeline that it thinks the center should be clearing packages even though the item could still be at that center or not even arrived yet.

So the system tells you what it thinks you want to hear based on a set of timelines that are painfully out of date.

The PO Manager showed me the actual scan sheet that can only be accessed on the manager's terminal and not a single date aligned with what I was being shown on the website.

Her opinion was Informed delivery was absolutely useless for packages and not worth the cost for anything other than the pictures of your envelope mail.

Yeah this lines up with the news piece I saw. It seems any benefit to the drivers of these vehicles doesn't outweigh the risk to other drivers.

I no longer accept or mail any cues via the USPS for this very reason. I use Fed Ex with excellent results. I'll take 95% accuracy on tracking over 50% accuracy any day of the week.

Ps since we are off topic, if you sign up for a pirateship account, they give you corporate shipping rates for UPS and USPS (no FedEx). UPS is often the same price as USPS on their site. And both are much less than retail. If you are a shipper use this service. If you are a buyer ask if the seller uses this. If they answer no, ask if you can make and pay for your own shipping label and email it to them to tape to the box. I’ve done that a couple times as a buyer.

the bright led headlights are especially terrible for us older guys that have gotten cataract surgery.
but sure do light up the road ahead for you.

I bought a cue from an AZ’er in Florida years ago that never got delivered.
Seller insured it for $700. They put a green and white label for the insurance with a number on it.
That number was also the tracking number.
Anyway, I tracked it to a city named Bullhead, Arizona where it was delivered.
The Post Office investigated and found a picture of the label in Arizona. It was removed from the box the cue was in and stuck on an Amazon envelope.
Do you think it was an inside job?
Seller never collected insurance value because he didn’t file his claim in time.

A friend of mine just received a shaft that the post office said was “lost”. Took about 3-4 weeks from the original ship date for him to get it. It magically reappeared. Crazy times

USPS never says when mail goes in for inspection. The postal service is the oldest national identification system.

If it was email and it was flagged for law enforcement the entire hacker community would protest for privacy.

Poolplayers do you feel your snail mail should be free from postal inspections?

For MLK JR day its possible a postal agent plants evidence to target civil rights activists. Its possible telecommunications were faked to frame civil rights activists. Its possible law enforcement neglected their authority to let an assassination happen.

USPS is like military they do what they want when they want. Not rain or snow, not even covid can stop USPS.

They should have a virtual agent that can answer questions. There is no need for a physical postal office in some areas.

Quality of mail transit varies state to state and depends on the person sorting that day.
