Just went to print a shipping label for USPS Express and the Insurance was about triple of what I remember paying just a month ago. Anyone else notice this?
Woaaaahhhh......just compared a cue I recently expressed to the Chicago area. The ins cost was $5.90 extra then and is now $21.15.
Still probably cheaper overall than UPS or FedEx though. Worth a check.
The advantage for using the Express Mail option for more valuable items is now gone. The insurance with that product was much cheaper than priority.
Gonna have to swing by my local p.o. and give 'em an earful tomorrow. lol
I just received something by media mail that cost about 1.3% of value to insure. I think that's not horrible but I hope they destroy less than 1% of the packages they handle. I usually go self-insured for what I ship if it's replaceable.A lot of times it was as much or cheaper than regular insured priority.
And yes, I know that making a claim can be a pain in the ass but at least there's a small chance of success.

I think they went to tracking on nearly everything at no extra charge.
What do you have to do to get a claim paid other than point out it was never delivered (or delivered broken)?
I'll be willing to bet. UPS & FedEx are far more easier to deal with on claims then USPS....Always, Always, Always keep every stinking piece of paper.Woaaaahhhh......just compared a cue I recently expressed to the Chicago area. The ins cost was $5.90 extra then and is now $21.15.

Just in case you didn't know, you can order ONLINE, from USPS, just about all of the Priority Express boxes you can stand FOR FREE. They will deliver them to your door at no cost. I guess that's why they had to raise the cost of insurance.

Maybe they had to raise the rates because they decided to start paying some claims. Its been like that for years. In hindsight its only $30 on a $2000 item so its not terrible but still the increase went from $10 to $30 over night.

I have gotten things from ebay that were shipped in USPS priority boxes wrapped in brown paper. If you bought these boxes from Office Depot they would be a few dollars a box but they are free from the post office.
Not me that I recall.... Here is a funny story that may involve you. I sold like 75 old Billiard Digest Mags on ebay and for some reason I think it was to you. ...
