I see where my previous post can be looked upon as an attempt to single out one individual as the source and blame for all that is wrong with our industry when in fact that is not the case. For that, I apologize.
The underlying theme here is that our industry is in deep doo-doo because of perceived impropriety and if anyone is waiting for some government agency to come along and clean it up for us, they'll have a long wait. It just ain't gonna happen. This industry needs to purge itself from within. Let me ask you a question. Why is it that we can't get outside sponsorship for some of our largest pool tournaments in this country yet names like General Motors, CitiBank, Royal Bank of Scotland, etc. etc. stand in line for the advertising & sponsorship rights to a golf tournament where 1st place gives the winner another million dollars for his weekend's worth of involvement. That million dollars doesn't come from entry fees. Yet those same sponsors will turn a deaf ear to pool because they don't want their names associated with the darker side of sports. Asia, apparently doesn't have this problem as I read where the automobile manufacturer 'Kia' has offered sponsorship.
It's not about an avatar, it's not about a few deals gone bad, it's about the overall integrity, or lack of, in our business that causes us to be looked upon unfavorably. You don't have to go far to read it for yourself. The Main Forum, even if you just read the headlines, Ronnie Alcano charged with rape, Trudeau held in contempt, stakes horses getting set up to be hustled and John Q Public who is reading this stuff doesn't care whether it's true or not. He just shrugs his shoulders and says 'well, that's pool'. Scroll down slightly to the For Sale section. One bad transaction after another, people not getting the cue they paid for, cues misrepresented, the same cue sold to 3 different people at once & on & on & on. Imagine the parents of little Johnny or Sally who wants a cue for Christmas. The parents, by chance, come to this site to see what this pool thing is all about and quickly decide that the kid will get golf clubs or a tennis racket because their kid will not be allowed to have anything to do with pool. Nice image Huh ?
This is your sport and for some of us, it's our livelihood. Are we going to clean it up or are we going to continue business as usual ? It's your call.

I do agree with the response of personal opinions and such for avatar choices. This is a free country. But as a free country, I can and have the right to disagree with someone elses opinion(or avatar) that I find offensive or in bad taste. I do whole heartedly agree with KJ's 2 posts, especially the mobster fantasies, and an avatar showing breasts, while maybe not be in best taste, at least it's not glorifing the last 2 decade's most notorious mobster. Lee seems to like the mobster persona, and that's fine, but usually that doesn't help a business or an industry especially when you treat customers/potential customers with that same persona.
Just my 2cents, but as a public forum, I can say it.

With that said when we do post in reference to our personal dislikes you must assume we just draw unnecesary attention to what your calling basically a disgrace to our industry. We are simply highlighting what's wrong with our own industry rather than focusing on fixing it. I am know criminal or have no record but can you say that????.... i have never been in jail can you say that????... other then cue repairs at our local pool store what have you ever done for this business or given to it NOT A THING!!!I remeber us having breakfest and you didnt even want to spend 50 cents on coffee let alone pay for a booth at a pool tournament... EVER ... donate anything I have over 100 products we make and market world wide .I feel we are doing something to better this indusrty no just talking about it like you.
