BTW...Do you know Ernesto???? Does he ever make his way to Arizona??? I just had my table redone, but I am curious if its still possible to have him apply some pocket shrinking magic...(It's currently just double shimmed) If he is going to be in Arizona anyway....perhaps we can set something up...
For him to shim your rails, he has to have your rails.
He has to replace the cushions ( extend the sub-rail ) then use one shim only.
He goes there to do poolhalls only.

Table Seams

Well I use Bondo on all the tables I do. If the seams are done right you should have very little filler in the seam. A lot of people try to fill gaps and uneven slates with filler. They do not take the time to get the frame and the slates set up right. Also I have seen a lot of slate screws not tighten down so the slate will move and the seams pop.

A lot of people will use plaster of paris or Durham's water putty to fill the seams. Plaster of paris will dry out and come out of the seams. You will have problems with Durham's if you do not know how to mix it right. Wax is old school, I have seen wax melt and also come up. It might stain the cloth to. You also have to redo it almost every time you recover the table.

I have done a few tables with out any filler at all. You can do that when the seams are perfect.

I have never been called back because of poped or bad seams

If you have something under the cloth, you might be able to fix it by taking a small flat piece of hard wood and taping on it with a hammer. Set the wood on top of the cloth, over object under the cloth and tap it with the hammer. If it is seam filler you should be able to break it up.

If you have any questions send me a pm,

Steve
