Vacuuming grout tables...Need opinions....

I recently moved to houston where I had to have my table reassembled. The guy who did the work advised me not to vacuum my table because it would pull the grout up. He suggested a lent roller to for cleaning purposes. I bought the lent roller and it is just not getting the job done with the chalk.

I was wandering if any of you table mechanics out there have an opinion on my situation. Can grout be safely vacuumed? If not how do I keep the felt clean?

Thanks,
Marcus

I vacuum my table all the time, but my table is not grouted. They used bee's wax to seal the joints. I even watched the guy do it. He did a fantastic job and I highly recommend Sun Fun amusement if anyone needs a table in the Melbourne, Florida area.

I know back at Southern Billiards in Starkville, Mississippi, my old pool room, they vacuumed the Diamonds every night. No problems whatsoever. They used a dirt devil hand vac for it.

Yeah,good suggestion Shorty.

And if u wanna clean off your table,to get rid of all the chalk, etc.I recommend u to use:

Chalk Off

They even used it on big tournament, such as the US open.

Thank You

I too live in Houston and I my table had beeswax applied at the slate joints too. When I clean it, I have a very gentle Hoover vaccum that has a brush applicator. It works perfectly as a brush and vacuum at the same time. My table has Forest Green Simonis 860 BTW. You can really tell a difference because of the dark color. A wipedown with a damp almost dry cloth on the rails and she's ready for action.
