valley nose hight

I caught a thread a while back that pointed out the valley slate of old was 3/4 and the newer is 5/8. Therefore raising the nose hight 1/8" and causing the balls to "pinch". Can anyone actually confirm this? I've looked at our valleys and there is a 1/8" gap under the rails. I guess I should be asking what the nose hight is supposed to be on a valley table. ??

Valley has never used a slate 5/8"ths thick in any table. Valley slates are either 3/4" or 7/8"ths.
