Valley Pro Cat

Love Diamond and everything they contribute to the game of pool. But their 7' tables have always had massive issues.

Every single place I go to that has Diamond bar tables routinely has to put out of order signs on some of them from time to time with balls getting stuck. Not even to get into how springy the rails can be at times with humidity fluctuations seemingly having a greater effect on the 7' rails(guess it's different rubber? idk) for whatever reason. On top of the fact that they are way too fast in general.

No table is perfect.

When it comes to holding their value, yeah there's just about no chance the Valley can hold as well as the Diamonds do. BUT when it comes to playability and function it's not hard to keep up with Diamond there imo considering they don't seem to give a damn about their 7' offerings at all.
First off, if a Diamond coin op isn't working right, it didn't start out that way, so place that blame on who ever works on them, not Diamond. You've been out of touch with the Diamond tables if you're still talking about how they play so fast, I changed that design 15 years ago for Diamond!! Maybe you're just not exposed to the newer Diamonds in your area. What area are you in??

Just telling yall about my personal experiences. And about half of the diamonds I’m talking about are less than 5 years old so for whatever that’s worth.

Odd how only the 7’ ball returns have problems when 9’ tables in the same place work great.

Anyway, yall go be upset with someone else. Just saying what I see in places I go.

Wonder what Shane thought of the Pro Cat.
24 reinforced slate bolts to level the slate,
I have a Diamond, i have shot on many Diamonds. Only thing I don’t like about Diamond tables is the 8375.00 price tag for a coin op.

So you have played on and seen the new Valley Pro Cat?
I don't know any business owner that would blow that kinda loot on a fkng Valley. Never seen one, don't really care to. From what i'm hearing they can't give these away. BTW, the bolts are not levelers but are how the rails are attached to the slate. They finally are at least doing this right.

Based on what i'm hearing from dealers/vendors i probably never will unless i go to the Valley nationals. These are not moving well and D'monds have a waiting list. Do your own math.

That would definitely be a mistake if they did not make the slate adjustable.
I have a 7 foot Diamond Pro Am myself. Love that table.
I will hopefully have more info in the next few weeks but you are right if they are pricing that table at 7500 they priced theirselves out of the market.

I emailed Valley and Mike P responded. The table is a basic Valley construction with two exceptions: 1" slate and rails are now bolted thru the slate. The 24 bolts mentioned in their ad are the rail bolts NOT a leveling system. This is straight from Valley HQ.

I love diamond tables btw. Just saying all the 7’ around my area(SC) have loads of issues. Just facts, wish it wasn’t true.
Has 100% to do with who's working in them i have 100's of Diamonds around me, and none are having problems that I'm aware of, I'd know too, because I'm the one that gets the calls if they have problems!!!

Hate to say it but, a 6 month old Diamond bar box has an out of order sign on it at Buffalo’s. Also a 3 or 4 year old one on the smoking side also has an out of order sign on it. I don’t know what happened to them, just noticed the signs when I walked thru.

A D'mond coin mech is built like a tank but i can see where some heavy handed drunks could jack one up. If its not coin op there's really nothing to break. pic of one. pretty stout piece: https://shop.diamondbilliards.com/p...86290&pr_ref_pid=9652974911794&pr_seq=uniform

Yeah it's got everything to do with balls getting stuck in them. Idk why it happens but it's an extremely common problem has to be some flaw in there causing it, doubt it has a single thing to do with the mechanics working on them though as has been suggested. There's nothing wrong with admitting a product is imperfect.

I have 100's of Diamonds around where I live, and we just don't have any issues with them whatsoever! Maybe, it's who's doing the work in them that is the problem, or should I say NOT doing the work!!!

When coin operated pool tables get serviced, part of that service requires lifting the slate up and actually CLEANING the inside if the tables out with a vacuum cleaner to remove all the shit that builds up between recoveries! If that's NOT done, DON'T blame the tables! I have 100's of Diamonds around me, and we seldom ever have a service call, and if we do, it's because something in the electrical system that broke, and we fix the problem right away!! SAME tables, and few thousand miles apart, yet we don't have those same issues!! Wonder why that is???

You 'doubt'?? Based on what? You a mech. or just guessing? Glen made it pretty clear that virtually all issues on coin-ops/returns is a maintenance issue. If you have no proof that its a design issue then quit knocking the tables. I'm gonna go with someone with 40+yrs exp everytime.

So it’s knocking a product to say it’s imperfect? Pretty dramatic overstatement.

I’ve said what I have to say. Regardless of why, it’s not a problem only confined to my area. Perhaps it’s stuff in the tracks, idk. But I do know it happens a lot and just cuz it doesn’t happen to RKC’s tables doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen elsewhere.

But I see the out of order signs, they exist like it or not, not my job to fix them.

I’ll be sure to suggest to the local mechanics though the tracks need to be cleaned out every time they cover them! I’m sure they’ll love that extra half hour or whatever it takes per table, they already work for peanuts in general.

But it is somebody's job to fix them, so there is the problem!!
