Van Boening pockets 5k today for the six-pack

I know he ran the 5-pack and came up dry on the break, but did he get a 6-pack in his match with Stone? That's is some unbelievable shooting if he did indeed run a 5 and 6 pack. I am hoping he wins it.

Van Boening, Peach and Becker all earned $5,000 for running 6 racks.

And Ulrich, Majid and Becker beat Mike Sigel so they earned free entries to the next three qualifiers. That's worth 6K each.

Extra sweet for becker, considering he got the second chance, so to speak, and along with earning the free entry, runs six for another 5 grand!! congrats.

Seems Mike may have beaten the other player who he had to play.

Quite an effort by Becker under that pressure with the mouth in his ear :p

Seems the standard is pretty high...at last in terms of BRO's. There wasn't a single six pack in the KOH or the Derby City Qualifier as I recall.

Shane is one win away from a tour card. He will play Groce on the winner's side finals. I bet Breedlove or the loser of Shane vs Groce will get the other card.
Keep it going Shane!

I am a Breedlove fan but unfortunately it will not be him this time as he was just beaten by Frankie Hernandez 10-7. Maybe next time!

I may be mistaken but I do not believe that they are playing on the same equipment that they did at the last IPT event and the DCC qualifier. It is probably a bit tougher to put 5 and 6 packs on a Diamond Pro over the Olhausens that they are playing on in Atlanta. Still an awesome accomplishment consider the pressure that they are under..
I have been pulling for Van Boening from the start. I really like his game and the way that he handles himself.. He is good for the sport IMHO..

Joe, I can assure you that these particular Olhausens are as tough as any table. They are the tightest tables in the house and with them having the slower nap cloth on them that was installed just for this event they are tougher than ever.

Van Boening did put the 6 pack on Stoney Stone to win the set. The kid is playing absolutely spectacular. I am also proud to say that he was one of my 2 picks to get a tour card at this event. The 2nd horse broke a leg.

I also wholeheartedly agree with your statement of "I have been pulling for Van Boening from the start. I really like his game and the way that he handles himself.. He is good for the sport IMHO.."

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I know that some of the Olhausen tables do play really tough. I have one at home that rivals the Diamond for tough play. I did not know that they installed the slow nap cloth on these tables either. Thanks for the information. Sounds like it was a great tournament. I would love to have been there.
From what I read, it looks as if Shane ran 2 5 packs and a six pack. That is really stout.. Get em Shane..

Peace,

Joe

....and four straight to finish, down 9-6. After the 6th win, he popped the cue ball down on the felt and never missed another shot.
