Here is a super sharp fullsplice that was hand spliced by the fine cuemaker Bebot Bautista of the Philippines. Take note of the long, thin, ultra sharp & dead even points...qualities rarely found on fullsplice sneaky style blanks. Hats off to Mr. Bautista as he certainly builds a quality blank and from what I understand, he does it very old school fashion with a lot of hand tools. You may remember the cue from an earlier thread for which I supplied the link above. Well the cue winds up here in NC. The current owner of the cue is a rather large & quite dangerous local roadplayer...he's about 6'4" & 280lbs and the line I get is he's already cut & buried more than one...thats all I'm saying. When he brings me the cue for work I just say "yes sir, whatever you'd like sir". This is one nasty cat. Anyway...he has a bunch of 3/8-10 black collar high performance shafts he wants to use on this cue, so he has me swap the pin to a 3/8-10 & change the joint collar to solid black to match. While here he decides he wants one of my OB Classic partials fitted to the cue & again I say "yes sir." Lastly he see's some Hoppe style cues I'm working on & decides he needs that as well. Presto...here is the finished cue complete with the trick new OB Classic shaft & Juma Hoppe ring. The cue is still signed in gold "Bebot Bautista 2010". Bebot sir...I hope you are proud of my work.:)

we are very honored our humble cue was touched and granted an awesome makeover by a true custom cuemaker, Kevin Varney. full credit to KV for this wonderful makeover.

You could have co-signed the cue KV, as you did an excellent job. We wouldn't mind, and it would be our pleasure and honor. :)

By the way, how is it to work with Juma? We have tried many composites already like elforyn and almost all LBMs, but our limited resources still haven't provided us with Juma.

KV..you are killin' me with all these fine looking cues. I can't wait till Iget mine cause I know they play as good as they look.

Thank you for the kind words Steve but I must be clear...this isn't a Varney cue. I merely massaged it a bit.

Les, thank you sir for the very kind words as well. I wouldn't dare sign Bebot's cue. Like I say when people often ask (lately I only sign when requested) why I don't sign most of my cues...same as another cuemaker once said..."my name never helped pocket a ball."
As for the Juma...its well known that I love it. Working properties are very much identical to Elforyn...except without the Elf's suntan oil smell...and less expensive too. Try it...you'll like it. Makes for the highest performance ferrule since the old original Westinghouse micarta.

KV - great work to bad you didn't have any pins with "KV" stamped on them!

We'll talk in auguast when I'm down there about getting another varney in my hands. Your "Suped" purpleheart sneaky was the best cue ever and like a dumbass sold it...

Super nice looking job Kevin. i just about pulled the trigger myself on this beauty. I really like what you did with the Juma hoppe ring, nice touch. Thanks for sharing.
