Varney Cues

OK...after the 24th it is then. I think too that I may post it for sell under someone else's name...just to keep everyone on their toes!!!
Or...maybe not...

I have just been reading this post and i have to come to Kevin defense...not that he needs it..first and fore most ..from the PM i have shared with Kevin...he is one hell of a guy..who i cant wait to meet in person..not only does he have great pride in his craftmanship but the man has got a wonderful heart as well..a true people person. I will be buying a Varney very shortly... I have a billiard coach who is one hell of a player who has shot with a Varney (one of his close friends has one) and says that it is a great cue. Kevin you just keep shaving off wood chips down there in North C....Bernie and I will stand behind ya..

You know what they say..if you build it....they will come

Take care

I just got my Varney Sneaky...

I just got my Varney SP today and headed straight to the pool hall after work (actually I cut out a bit early...lol). I have to say that it hits 'em very sweet. It's got a nice solid feel and able to put plenty of spin on the ball. For instance, I was shooting the Buddy Hall spin shot discussed in another thread and executing it fairly well.

If you're interested in pictures I've posted some pictures of my collection in the Cue Gallery forum.

I like the cuemakers and casemakers that create deals for the board. It adds to the spirit of the place.

The Murnak deal was a good one that I regret missing out on. The Sherm cues from DCC were another. Fond memories.

What the heck...

I decided to go ahead and post a pic of my sneaky in this thread. Here's a great example of his work:

If given the chance, I would send out the $250 today just to test out one of his cues.

Maybe I will have the chance when he puts it up on here

Is there a website to look at your work, Kevin?

You should post a link unless you already have as much business as you can handle.

Wow!!

1147 hits to this one message!! I think that was partially due to the hornets nest I stirred up !! That ought to give me a couple of xtra chances to try and purchase it!! LOL !!

Send him a PM with you E-mail, and he will send you a S * * T lod of Photos...:)

Since I started all this, I thought I would comment on how I judged the price and value of the cues I got from Varney. I wanted a good playing and well made SP which I could use for many years. I also wanted a matching J/B if possible from the same manufacturer. I wanted both to be in the 17.5 - 18.0 oz range.

In looking around, and I did look at a lot, I finally settled on the Varney because they seemed to offer what I wanted. I was satisfied with the prices that Kevin gave me and didn't really try to "justify" purchasing his cues vs another makers.

There are many good cue makers around but he was able to offer me what I wanted, when I wanted, at a "value" that seemed good to me. I have no regrets.

When I get time, I'll take a picture of the cues and post it.

I've got the pm ready...let's hope he hasn't forgotten...

I've received multiple inquiries...no I haven't forgotten. Its finished, laying here on the pool table beside me. I ran a few balls with it (don't worry...tan chalk..LOL!) and man does it hit 'em good. Its in a group for my wife to photo...hopefully tomorrow she'll get the pics...and I'll post the thread. No need for pm's...the first reply on the thread that says I got $450....err...kidding....$250 (thanks Daytona joe) I'll take it...then its sold. Keep a look out in the for sale section. I'll post it under thread titled..."Varney contest cue". Good luck to all...I know some members have a radar lock...waiting...waiting...
