ok, perhaps this isnt the place to ask, but here goes. when i have been at the BCA tournament in Vegas it has been down the long hallway at the Riviera. it moved to this place from the Penthouse back in 2002 i believe.

anyway, they were selling Hot Dogs down near where they played, and they were, to say the least, delicious! they were the big kind, the kind you almost have to eat side to side.

does anybody know what kind of hot dogs these are? and where i could possibly get some?

regards,
DCP

LOL
Why don't you buy ingredients and make them by yourself?

Everyones different I know, but i detested those fat filled dogs. I ate 2 bites and threw it out and I was starving big time. I like the skinny ones when they get dried and wrinkled. Maybe it was a catoring outfit and you can get thier name from the BCA?

Can't say I enjoyed those hot dogs, DCP, but if it's really important to you, the APA Nationals are in progress at the Riviera, and they might well have the exact same setup and the exact same hot dogs. Call one of your friends who's there now and maybe they can track down the answer.

SJM,
thanks, good idea, i took your advice and emailed Mr. Rossman, asked him to do some checking. i'll let ya's know if i get a report from Dr. Cue.

Go across the street to I think The Westward Ho. Hot dogs are sold by so many to the pound. 6 to1. 8 to1 and so on. Those may be 2 to1. You should be able to get them from your wholesaler Locally just ask.

Those giant hotdogs disgust me. Westward Ho does indeed sell them and they are the hotdog you hear about in those stories or eye balls and nut sacks for sure. I always go to the Nickle Cafe (or something like that) in Westward Ho, they have smaller quarter pound all beef hotdogs on poppy seed buns that are just great. They are about 1/4 of the size and twice as expensive and worth every penny over those giant monstrosities.

You know, The Westward Ho is not that bad a place to stay. It is a dump by Vegas standards but is fine with me. I never hang around the hotel any way. The last time I stayed there I think it was like $129.00 for the week.

My father owned a wholesale meat business. Believe me you don't want to know what's in a hot dog. :)

No way I'd spend that much for a dog. They had better have been good. This I presume is the same place that was selling Pepsi for 2.25 a can.

I agree, that is why I don't buy hot dogs or any other meats that could have something added to it.

Actually, why don't you share with us what do they put in a melted meat to make it more profit.
I know, that back home during komunism era very popular item to mix with a meat was a toilet paper.

My niece stayed there for $25 a night because the Riv was booked up. She said it was not bad at all, and this is a woman that lives in a Marriott 150 days a year.

Think pig's a$$holes and pig's snouts and any other animal parts you wouldn't eat if they weren't ground up and you knew you were eating them. Of course, that was many years ago and I'm sure the illustrious Feds have everything ship shape now and only the best cuts go into them. I think the best idea is to stick with Hebrew National, then at least you know there is some control over them. Then again maybe it is the crap in dogs that give them taste.

Damn, that pretty nasty. I thought that maybe they add dogs, cats, rats, rouches etc., to it like chinese did back in 60's.

A Utah company (the name of escapes me for the moment) that supplies food services supplies much of Las Vegas (that why it's hard to find a pepsi in the Riv and most of LV) the same company supplies many college's as well-"Ogden Food Services" I believe is the name. You might as well get a list of morman owned manufatures of food and look up hot dogs it's probalbly the brand they use.
