Did he actually quit or was he forced off?
He chose to play on a different team in Vegas. Was subsequently kicked off the team for the remainder of the season and playoffs.
Did he actually quit or was he forced off?
I'm surprised you are even asking these questions! Let alone by some of the reponses on here!
You stated that all 6 of your team members are equal in skill. That means, one person is not supporting the team, and any one of you missing will not adversly affect the team outcome in Vegas. If he didn't quit the team for Vegas, one of you would get to be the odd duck and go and not get to play. How would you like that one person to be you? By him switching to another team with only 4 members, all 10 of you get to play! Smart move on his part, and your team should be grateful, now, none of you have to worry about not getting to play in Vegas.
As far as the money goes- he did not quit the team. He offered to finish out the season. That means, he would have full dues in just like everyone else. That would mean that he would get an equal share with the rest of the team, as agreed upon. (What's your and your teammates word worth?) As far as any Vegas winnings, he would be excempt from them, because he would not be playing on your team there. Just as your team would be excempt from any winnings his 'new' team might win there.
Sounds like this isn't about fairness at all, but an attempt to screw the 'odd ball' out of his fair share. Why was he kicked off the team? Because he found a solution that benefited all ten of you? You all know what the right thing to do is.

To the top one time for the weekend crowd in hopes of getting an opinion or two more or some official word on how this is handled by the powers that be.
