Velocity pro

cloth

Well, I put it on a table in a bar when we felted the others with Simonis and i will say that Simonis is still the shit.I would not compare it to Simonis. I think it is a deacent cloth for the money.
Thanks, Ron

I installed it on the 2 Diamond 9ft ProAms at Pool Sharks in Vegas and one of the first things I noticed was that it's thiner than Simonis 860. The second thing I noticed was that it has almost twice the stretch of Simonis 860. After I had it installed, the next thing I noticed was that the grain of the cloth would track off the object balls about half a diamond the length of the table, even though the grain of the cloth was straight because of how I install it, stretching it from side to side a pre-measured stretch. The last thing I noticed was that it had more ball speed than Simonis 860 as well. I think it's an OK cloth for the money, but "IN MY OPINION" it's not in the same league as Simonis 860;) And for anyone that knows me, knows I hate using them three words:D And now, I've said them 3 times on AZ;)

Thanks for the info Glen, I was considering using it on a couple tables to try it out but I don't like the tracking issue you described.

thanks

John, the owner of Pool Sharks, brushed and damp toweled the cloth quit a bit after I recovered the tables to kind of fluff up the nap to try and cut down the tracking, I guess he even called the company that he bought the cloth from...and they told him to tell me not to stretch the cloth so tight when I install it:confused: The tracking did kind of go away, but still, I'm not going to replace Simonis with something I wouldn't put on my own table, but...that's my personal feelings, and if someone's paying me to install...well...maybe then:o

Since Feb 07 we've sold over 300 cuts of velocity to commercial and home users and I have not received any negative feedback
from customers about the cloth - on the contrary we've received good comments. Seems unrealistic to think a "tracking issue"
on 2 tables at Pool Sharks is a legitimate reason to downgrade the cloth and brand as a whole.

If this cloth has problems I'd think we would have heard many more negative comments by now.
Possibly the cloth RKC installed was defective. It's not uncommon to get an occasional cut of defective cloth with many cloth brands.

I agree with you Rick, I don't know enough about the cloth yet to really give it a grading yet. I know John has it on some of the other Global 9fts in the room and he says it seems to be wearing fine, but I'm not in Pool Sharks often enough to take a look at how it's wearing...so there you have it....I don't know yet:D Maybe I over stretched the cloth, who knows:eek:

Don't take this the wrong way but generally, like anything else, you get what you pay for with billiard cloth.

As I've stated in the past, velocity is a first step up from napped cloth like Titan, Ultra, etc. for not much more $.
For approx $30 you're getting more speed, increased accuracy and considerably less or no pilling.
IMO it's a good choice for a home table that gets casual recreational use or where the table owner
can't or doesn't want to invest in a higher grade/quality cloth.
