Veneer Jig

Been using something very similar to that for the last 5 years. Blud showed it to me. Held my breath while drilling and taping the cast table top on my saw. Works like a champ, once you bite off the saw blade cost. Them big old carbide tips don't come cheap. Think my blade has about 50 or 60 of them. 5 years ago it was 150.00, and the saw blade company guy said the salesman quoted me too low.
Lee, I like the comfort handles on the push block. That's what I call well made. Wouldn't want to show a picture of the beat up wooden handle on mine.

Would a router table with a ground carbide V-bit work as well?

Thanks For The Nice Coment Yes The Ground V Groove Bit Can Work But This Method Is The Best My Friend Has A Grinding Shop And We Played With The Bit I Even Use My Cnc Vaccume Table To Cut Sometimes I Found This Method The Best We Did 25 Sets Of 4 Yesterday In Less Then 4 Hours All Glued And Ready To Go THE FIXTURE HAS DOWLED PINS SO EVERYTIME YOU MAKE A CUT YOU MOVE OVER AN EQUAL AMOUNT WORKS SUPER DELRIN HANDLES FOR EASY PUSH THROUGH

Like Lee I don't think it would work as well. Also with a V router bit you have to mess with whats called tip drag. Amana makes a v bit with replaceable cutters for folding MDF and it's like 91 degrees. Think it runs 90.00. A grind shop near by is a blessing. DZ talks about it on his site.
I've tried it on my cnc gantry, and can make it work, but have to make two passes about .002 apart going in opposite directions, to make it a climbing cut on both sides of the fold. PITA, but do able. If you make one pass, it just isn't 90 degrees. Saw blade works every time. Only problem is I don't have enough table saws, so it always seems like I want to cut what ever I don't have the saw set up for.
 
I think $150 is way low for that blade. Last time I saw one for sale it was considerably higher. Chris.

Saw Blade

I must have gotten a deal. Someone on here sold me a 90 degree saw blade for 50 bucks. Can't remember who though...been a while. It works like a champ.

If you use a arrow shaped 90 degree cutter like I show in my book you are correct the angle is often a degree or so off. But if you use the new jig I show in Advanced Cue Building Volume One with the side cutting 45 degree bit you can get the angle adjusted just like you want it. You can tilt the router to what ever angle you wish and cut most any angle you wish. So I would say the two methods are about equal, except the angle can be changed to tighten the fit up with the router and not with a preground blade. But if the angle is already perfect on the saw blade then Lee's method would be hard to go wrong with.

i didnt the girl thats does that has been out sick with a bad back i am going to try and figure it out just been so busy getting ready for vally forge i may do some looking on line and see how to do it myself i should have it done by tomorrow evening...lee
