Veneer ideas

I'm wanting to get a new cue made with ivory joint, buttcap, etc. I want a birdseye or curly maple forearm with 3 long ebony points and 3 short ivory points. I want a single black veneer around the ivory points but, I am having a hard time coming up with a veneer combination around the long points. I was leaning towards (starting closest to the point and working out) white, blue, white, black. I know I want to have blue in the veneers. Any ideas?

I think you nailed it there if you want blue in the cue. You should probably be carefull not to get too many veneers on a six pointer it might look too busy and over power the beauty of the primary points.

If you want that many veneers I'd consider going with 4 points but your cuemaker will know what he can do. An alternative to white veneer might be natural (maple) or a golden yellow. Another alternative I would consider is changing the black outter point veneer to a red.

nice cue! My problem is that I have so many ideas for cues that I don't know if I'll be able to get them all made.

those are beautiful cues. I love mike cochran's work. I live about 5 mins from jim buss. I'm going to be working with him very closely on the cue I want built. Every time someone replies to this post. I have new and improved ideas.
