Hi!

I`m actually about to purchase a simple hoppe style custom cue. But i just cant really decide which veneer colours to choose.

So maybe you can help me out in some way.

I prefer either a "black-red-blue-maple", a szamboti style "black-orange-green-maple", a "double black-double maple" or some combination with black-green- and maybe some maple.

The main factor is, that i`d like some darker "stained" birdseye maple in the foream. But i`ve only seen cues with the mentioned veneer colours that had pretty natural, bright maple in the foream. So i just cant imagine how a "black-red-blue-maple" or "black-orange-green-maple" would look on a darker maple.

So if you have some pictures of cues with a stained (darker) foream with some nice veneer coulour combinations please post em. This could really ease my choice!

BTW.: Earlier i was searching for a hoppe styple mottey, scruggs or white. Several real nice guys over here made me some good offers. They were many, so i just didn`t write each one that i finaly did`t want to buy their cue. I`m sorry about that, but i want to thank them at this point. All cues that were offered had a weight distribution that`s impossible to handle for me(all too much weight in the front). So i finaly have to go on and purchase a "but heavy" custom cue. My choice will be scruggs.

Best regards,

Nossi

Check out veneers on the Barry Hoppe cue in my Avatar. I included a closeup for you. In person, the blue and green blend together for an awesome color.
