Great opportunity here. My current player combines a cue butt from a now-infamous cuemaker with shafts from Barry Szamboti. As was the case in for my cue butt, many pilot holes on 5/16x14 butts are 0.500”. I chose to have the hole widened by a competent repairman, but sanding the pilot may also work. The combination works great and allows me to play in pool rooms with Szamboti shafts and not draw attention to my cue. At the price of a mass produced aftermarket LD, IMO, this is a no-brainer.
Are you sure about that Rod? I can not run a rack no matter what I play with....

Bump for a great shaft, that can be easily sanded down to 0.500 in., in order to fit a Joss or Scruggs. I bought the other matching Szamboti shaft that Rod had, and it has a much firmer hit than the original shaft for my early 80's Scruggs Sneaky Pete. I can't wait to try the shaft out tonight with an older Joss cue that I have. Somebody take advantage of this great deal! You may have to wait until the next Cicada's hatch (17 years) to obtain one from Barry Szamboti. So get it while you can, from a great AZB member!
