Petroni broke & pocketed a ball...... There's a couple of tight shots but nothing really tied up.

Petroni just made a nice short rail bank into the side. He should be able to get out from here.

Petroni did get out, Putnam broke and pocketed a ball but there's a ball tied up that Shawn just tried to break to break but the ball barely moved....

Petroni & Putnam are hill hill on the 2nd set....Petroni breaks dry & no balls are tied up.

Putnam is on the last ball before the 8.... the shot isn't easy & the shape is even tougher....

Sorry I can't explain the shots in detail but if I did, I wouldn't have enough time to actually watch the shots....

Putnam makes a nice soft cut in the side pocket, has a tough cut on the 8 in the side and missed the shot. Petroni has two problem balls depending on how he gets shape on them.

This was a heartbreak of a miss considering how hard Putnam had to work to get to the 8 in this rack

Petroni pockets a ball but the cue ball is on the end rail and there's a couple of balls tied up above the side pocket

Petroni misses the shot & also breaks out some the balls. Putnam could get out from here depending on his choice of stripes or solids...

I don't know if I'll be able to do this for tomorrow or not.... we'll see. I hope ya'll enjoyed the updates. :)

I don't know just a thought and I am in no way bagging on Cory, but he might have spent to much time woofin' barbox 8- ball instead of being ready to play Pro 9- ball.;)

First, Timberly, thanks VERY much for spending your time to keep us updated! Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you when I was there, but you were TOO BUSY keeping us updated! Eydie, thanks much for providing the computer. This worked great! Kevin Trudeau, if you're listening, you have here a great opportunity to hire Timberly as a tournament reporter. Don't let it slip away!!!

Now, a comment on Corey Deuel: I saw an amazing match between Corey and Johnny Archer yesterday. They were both undefeated when they met. They played their match which went one set each and to the 1 game tiebreaker. This was 19 games of 8-ball. There were NO (=ZERO!) mistakes by either opponent (the only exceptions were scratching on the break or not making any balls on the break). Whenever they got to the table, they ran out. There were no safes. It was 100% offense, executed perfeclty. It is hard to imagine pool played at this level, but what separated Johnny and Corey was essentially one dry break after 19 games!

There were many matches like this that I didn't get to watch as closely. For example, Mike Davis had a run of at least 7 perfect games that Timberly mentioned. Mike made an amazing comeback against Mika who was on the hill in the second set. Mike won that game and the next to tie it up. He won the lag for the 1 game tiebreaker, and broke and ran out that one to beat Mika, under what must have been amazing pressure.

Not much separates these guys when they all play so damned perfectly!
