very possible if he doesnt keep the right people around him,just look what happened to our local prodigy years ago from hickory.more talent at his age than any and all,should have been a world champion for sure!

The kid is a well raised class act...and his father is very well respected in the pool world. I find your post somewhat offensive. Its very clear you've never met him or you wouldn't make such statements.

Sorry Cub but I gotta agree, that was a little offensive..Word around is that little man beat Earl Strickland not too long ago. I do know what you mean and I have seen it happen before. Let's give him a shot at least.
 
Earl has nothing to lose. He's a great. I wouldnt be surprised if he let that kid win to help the kids career out. People wouldnt change their opinion of earl if he won or lost but it may change the perspective for landon. Earl is classy enough to do that. Just like allison fisher with the IPT to help pool. I dont mean to be offensive but it's not like hes the first kid to be a great potential. The fact is things change when you get older and a lot of things can influence. If he turns out great then cool but sorry to let you guys down I'm not a redneck I've just been around a lot of great players and up and comers and have seen what can happen.

Be offended if you want but I've seen some sad things happen to good potentials... including my ex-scotch doubles partner. A lot of what I seen is what influenced me to stop trying to go pro and do it for a living and go to college instead and then make a lot of money that way then play pool on the side.

You can compare him to Tiger Woods which is a good comparison actually but like I said there are a LOT of good playing kids out there and people that were that good that will get to experience the other world other than just pocketing balls.

edit: lol go ahead and negative rep all you want because you dont agree. That's the mature thing to do. Real players that's been around and seen the game will understand. Those of you who have a table in your house and think you know something just wont understand but theres that bad rep button so press away.

He looks like a good kid with a lot of talent. I just saw Mora at the ACS nationals in Las Vegas playing in the World Summit of pool tourney. He is 18 and he beat Mika and it was no fluke. His presence at the table, cue ball control and ability are far past his years already. I hope Mora can stay on the straight and narrow also because he has a great future ahead of him and I wish the same for Landon.

cubc...IMO, there is ZERO chance that Earl would deliberately lose to ANYBODY! :rolleyes: I've seen him quit in the middle of a match, but it was related to other elements. Landon is a normal kid, with a lot of pool talent. He is very grounded because of the relationship with his family. I will suggest (and lay odds) that the scenario you described will not happen to Landon. I know what you speak of, and I've seen it happen many times too...just seriously doubt it in this case.

I've met Landon and his father. Also watched him play in many matches in person. This kid has more maturity than many seasoned pros. I think he will do just fine in life due to his proper upbringing.

Ironically, during class this morning, I was thinking the same thing. :) So I went into both videos and did a semi-analysis to show the differences in 2004 and 2006. Take a look at the new video below. Starts off the same so keep watching.

Seems like Landon's mechanics are slipping. Landon is off/on his own and picking up some "Bad" habits :( from other players who have developed their games from instinctual trial and error over many years, not from the knowledge of scientific study based education.

Tiger Woods as in a few comments here. If we compared Tigers swing and most other top professional today, they are all pretty much mechanically speaking the same. But compare them to the old timers of 20 years ago and the difference in night and day. What caused this transcending difference??? Knowledge, Education and Money. Not particularily in that order.
