Video: Corey Deuel vs. David Broxson

Sorry Belmicah, but you are incorrect. Besides pool, billiards, and videos, one of my other hobbies is debunking urban myths.

I took your suggestion to "look hard" and here is what I found:

The only source for this quote on the entire web is on:

http://www.underneathpolitics.com/storytwo281201200628.html

This "underneath" site is a parody. They also run other parody sites on Hollywood and sports. The line you quote was made up by them. President Bush never said this.
I did not find the quote on that site, and the other quotes in that report he DID say, so are you sure he didn't say these things, or are you just defending a terrorist?

OK, since I can no longer find it myself for proof,I'll change my sig to this:

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

or these:

"My plan reduces the national debt, and fast. So fast, in fact, that economists worry that we're going to run out of debt to retire." —radio address, Feb. 24, 2001

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." —State of the Union Address, Jan. 28, 2003, making a claim that administration officials knew at the time to be false

"I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace." —Washington, D.C. June 18, 2002

"I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn't do my job." —to a group of Amish he met with privately, July 9, 2004

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed." —speaking underneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, May 1, 2003

“We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories … And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them." —Washington, D.C., May 30, 2003

"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!" —President George W. Bush, joking about his administration's failure to find WMDs in Iraq as he narrated a comic slideshow during the Radio & TV Correspondents' Association dinner, Washington, D.C., March 24, 2004

"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." —Washington, D.C., Dec. 19, 2000

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 (Watch video)

If you want to bash G.W. for attempting to refocus America on Iraq instead of Bin laden, please get the quote right..

"Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."

But of course, this doesn't sound as "juicy" as "and really don't care."

Would you mind giving us your source for the "really don't care" part? To show us your integrity? Perty please? Heck, I support Bush, and was willing to quote him word for word in an unflattering statement. The least you could do is not put words in his mouth...

Lemme guess.. You're going to respond with the excuse of "Well, it means the same thing, so what does it matter?"

Rrrrrrright.. Like non-murdered elephant cues means the same as cues made without animal parts...:D :D :D

I am sorry you support him in ANY way. You are not a patriot if you blindly support a terrorist dictator who has done nothing but take Freedom from us.

And I say this even though I am a BLOOD RELATIVE.

You keep talking about ethics. Do you support Bush? If so, I never want to see you type the word ethics again. I think I would vomit.

I stand by my findings. No one likes to hear they are wrong or that they've been duped, but facts are a stubborn thing and things can't just be because we really really wish them to be.

The statement you quote is false. It was created by a known parody site. And all good parody mixes fact and fiction for the desired effect.

If this statement were true, you can be sure that it would be quoted ad-nauseum througout the web. It isn't. Therefore, I challenge you to produce any recognized media or government source which attributes this quote to President Bush. I would be willing to make a friendly bet on it. Name your price.

(cough, cough) .....no reply? Let's take this into the non-pool related sub forum so as to not get banned. I would hate to think someone would come into this thread wanting to talk about the videos I linked.

Referencing your WMD quotes, I just thought you'd like to know... I think it was either last week or the week before, a chlorine bomb was set off in Baghdad.. But there were no WMD, right? Hussein actually destroyed all the chemical weapons that had been used on the Kirds, right? You DO realize he gassed whole Kurd villages, right? There is no argument he had those types of weapons, only arguments on whether he destroyed them according to U.N. sanctions.

But I wouldn't expect you to know that, since all you do is go and find quotes off of web sites, without educating yourself.

And on the humorous quotes, here is a reference to a humorous quote by Bush..

This "You can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones you want to concentrate on" was indeed from a Gridiron Dinner in 2001. It should be noted that this is the time of the year when the president traditionally tells jokes, and this was one. Whatever grains of truth you might see in it, its misleading to present it as a straight quote. The discrepancy between whether Robert Strauss or POTUS said it is due to the nature of the joke: The president was (falsely, in a humorous context) relaying advice he'd gotten from the Democratic strategist, who we can assume didn't really have such a conversation with the President.

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:George_W._Bush

I see you do a lot of this sort of thing in your quotes. Either presenting obvious jokes told in a situation where the president is expected to be laidback and jovial, as a serious quote; or taking an actual quote out of context, and adding a word here or there to make it more consistent with what your view of the man is.

For the record, before I go and put a quote forth to support my point, i am REAL careful to find the original quote, in order not to make a fool of myself by repeating a made up quote. I actually followed Wiki's link to whitehouse.gov and verified the original transcript.

I am all for your right to bash Bush. I just suggest that you use accurate and pertinent quotes (i.e., not quotes he made in an obvious joking manner at a fundraiser, ball, etc..) when you do so. When you make up quotes, or quote a madeup quote, you lose credibility with everyone on the board except those who are already predisposed to believe everything you type.

Sorry all,
Didn't mean to hijack the thread with this political BS. But debunking this was hard for me to resist. Moving on...

I'm hoping to get the second semi from the Space Coast Open up late tonight. It features David Broxson and Robb Saez.

Thanks again for all the nice comments.

Ethics Ethics Ethics

And in reference to your quote, I already SHOWED you that you misquoted it. I WENT TO THE ORIGINAL TRANSCRIPT on the White House website and saw that "really don't care" was inserted into his statement by pundits unknown.

And are you SERIOUSLY using politicalhumor.about.com as a valid source for quotes? Did you happen to see politicalhumor in the link??????

As far as the quote that Jorge argued about, he is probably right, because I cannot remember where I got it. Point taken.

As far as you telling me that the quotes I listed should be seen as comedy, I agree. Our president is VERY funny.

I would however, hate to think that you, being involved in a war spurred by false flag terrorism (aka. inside job), by a dictatorial, secret society occultist, whose grandfather funded the nazis, and who now has effectively taken away habeus corpus and other liberties, written the Terrorist Act (I mean Patriot Act) and the Military Commissions act of 2006 which basically allows him to torture children by crushing there testicles in front of their parentsif he deems it necessary, and to arrest and hold innocent people indefinitely, without a right to an attorney, on charges they don't have to be informed of by simply calling them "military combatants."

Tell me Russ, how many military combatants did you find today?

Wow oh wow.. I don't spend enough time anymore on the NPR forums to know which ones are the whack jobs and which ones are just a little misled or not as strict in their methodology as I am.

You, sir, and squarely in the former.. Good day to you... And good luck..

No, seriously.. I mean that.. Good luck..

I watched the video when he said that. Lemme find it for ya good buddy, hold on.

Besides, why would Bush want to find his buddy and business partner Bin Laden?

America was itself to blame for the events of september 11 because the us administration was using "kid gloves" in tracking down osama bin laden and "other fanatics linked to saudi arabia", a special bbc investigation has alleged in a damning indictment of the two presidents bush and american foreign policy. the report, which the bbc claimed was based on a secret fbi document, numbered 199i wf213589 and emanating out of the fbi’s washington field office, alleged that the cynicism of the american establishment and "connections between the cia and saudi arabia and the bush men and bin ladens" may have been the real cause of the deaths of thousands in the world trade centre attacks. the investigation, which featured in the bbc’s leading current affairs programme, newsnight , said the fbi was told to "back off" investigating one of osama bin laden’s brothers, abdullah, who was linked to "the saudi-funded world association of muslim youth (wamy), a suspected terrorist organisation," whose accounts have still not frozen by the us treasury despite "being banned by pakistan some weeks ago and india claiming it was linked to an organisation involved in bombing in kashmir". newsnight said there was a long history of "shadowy" american connections with saudi arabia, not least the two presidents bush’s "business dealings" with the bin ladens and another more insidious link revealed by the former head of the american visa section in jeddah. the official said he had been concerned about visas issued to large numbers of "unqualified" men "with no family links or any links with america or saudi arabia", only to find out later that it "was not visa fraud" but part of a scheme in which young men "recruited by osama bin laden" were being sent for "terrorist training by the cia" after which they were sent on to afghanistan. in a reiteration of a now well-known claim by one of george w bush’s former business partners, the bbc said he made his first million 20 years ago on the back of a company financed by osama’s elder brother, salem. but it added the more disturbing assertion that both presidents bush had lucrative stakes along with the bin ladens in carlyle corporation, a small private company which has gone on to become one of america's biggest defence contractors. the bin ladens sold their stake in carlyle soon after september 11, it said. american politicians later told the bbc programme that they rejected the accusation that the establishment had called the dogs of the intelligence agencies off the bin ladens and the royal house of saud because of a strategic interest in saudi arabia, which has the world's biggest oil reserve.

In fact, the Bin Ladens were one of a very selec tfew that even flew aroung 9/11. They were protected by the FBI also when a Freedom of Information Act request was made.
