Video : No-Arm Billiardist

That was quite an historical video! WOW!

In perusing the other video links about pool on YouTube, who is this? She states she is pro, but doesn't play on the pro tour, but she does post here on AzBilliards. She's a pretty little gal!

Really he is a 1/2 armed billiardist, isn't he?

I think I might try shooting some masses that way, using both hands on the shaft and resting the butt of my cue on my shoulder... Looks like you can get a precise hit that way... Should look funny when I do it at the local pool hall!

Such a shame she smokes. :( I think she means she played on WPBA regional tours. I don't recall her ever playing on THE pro tour. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Back on track, the first vid was a great one!

Whatever she played on, she is young, fresh, cute, and I enjoy seeing some YOUNG American blood on the tournament trail. Aside from being pretty, I kind of like her style, cigarettes and all! :)

That's the point. She is young, fresh and cute and that's why it's a shame she smokes. :o

Well, I smoke, and the fact that she smokes cigarettes doesn't bother me one iota. :D

Actually, without getting into a debate about smoking cigarettes, I wish the non-smokers would allow the smokers to enjoy their freedom of choice. I don't think it's a shame that she smokes, but it's a shame that because she smokes, her freedom of choice is looked upon with shame. She's an American, the land of the free, where citizens can enjoy freedom of choice.

JAM, I don't want this to become a debate either. Not just because we would be hijacking the thread, but because I don't have a problem with freedom of choice. The fact remains that she has made a lifelong choice to endanger her health and that's a shame. I wonder if that is one of the things she picked up from the poolroom or if she smoked before?

I love you to death and know you smoke. For that matter, so does my husband. However, I certainly would not wish it for my child or someone just starting out in life.

I will reserve my comments and reply in full if I ever see you again competing on the American tournament trail. I feel very strongly that cigarette smokers have rights and do not like it much when their freedom of choice is called to question.

So what if the girl smokes. Does it have anything to do with her intro pool video on YouTube? She was just sharing her pool journey, and it is her story that I enjoyed hearing. :)

Why are you so adamant about defending a young girl smoking? I mean, yeah it's a choice, but so is being a stripper or whore or something else that could be looked down upon. Linda just wants to see a young talented "fresh and pretty" girl make good decisions with her life. You can't say smoking is one of those.

BTW I smoke as well, but if I saw my daughter doing it, I would smack it outta her mouth real quick.

Whoa, Nelly! I don't want to initiate a smoking thread. A simple search on this forum, one can read ad nauseum about it. :p

I truly don't see any parallel between smoking and being a stripper or a prostitute, my friend. As a matter of fact, to put smokers in a category with these two choices is really making the hair stand up on my neck at the time of this writing.

The young girl made a video about her pool journey. What I think is a shame is the need to make mention of her smoking a cigarette, that it is shameful.

Erin has a long way to go. She won one Qualifier in the NY State 9-ball Championships to the 2007 WPBA US Open.

Well, that is certainly a great accomplishment at her tender age. I look forward to following her career.

All this talk about Erin smoking and not one word about George Sutton lighten up a cigar at the end of his video. Sign of time::rolleyes:
Jam I glad you found Erin video while viewing Sutton. Rackmsuckr,One subject leave to other subject and that cool!!

All I can tell you that I personally turned the video off when she lit up. You can take that for what it's worth. I simply found it far less endearing and was no longer interested.

To get back on topic, of "No-arm billiardist"

I've seen a player very similar to this at one of the National Pool tournaments in Las Vegas. First time I saw him shoot a shot in 8 ball, he missed, but I was surprised to see his response was like he isn't used to missing. A little later I saw him shoot more, and confirmed how well he actually did shoot.

In contrast to the video, the player I saw had a couple of nubs on the end of one of his short arms, so he could hold his cue with the nubs, and bridge on top of his other arm. But, when he had to break, he'd use both arms to hold the butt of the cue (like in the video), with the butt of the cue up against his chest.

Impressive to see the human ability to adapt and adjust to overcome seemingly impossible situations.
