Thanks for the video link Joey. Do you think he got lucky on the double bank? I can't imagine he was trying to play it like that deliberately. (But then again I have a hard time imagining myself doing anything the way Bustamente does!)

Also what is this format? Pre-set rack layouts that each player has to run and score the most balls overall?

Lastly who's the lady doing the commentating, and does anyone know which mysterious great Philipino player she believed Bustamente and many others copied their stroke from?

I saw that video yesterday.

Was Busta really trying to carom the 4 off the 8 into the far corner pocket? I think what he was really intending to do is combination bank the 8 cross side, and he got lucky. He got lucky twice in that rack, if you count that double-banked 3.

But an impressive out nonetheless.

Sounds like Jeanette Lee to me... I'm guessing she's referring to Boy Bicol. Not sure.

We need to ask Edwin how Boy Bicol stroked.
As far as I know, they had these loopy stroke b/c of the real slow tables there.
If you look at Efren now, he's lost that bicycle stroke b/c after so many years of playing on Simonis.
 
Interesting that they have Pre layouts for the balls that each person has to run out. I like that! I think when I get home I'll try to set that rack up and see how I do.. (obviously shitty compared to them) Kinda tough to determine exact position from those videos though.

I have that same Philipino bicycle stroke thing going on. Busta's seems more pronounced than most I've seen.

Interesting thing happened the other night... a pool hall owner, who happens to be Korean passed by my table while I was running a rack and he yells out "TOO MUCH DANCING, TOO MUCH DANCING". Referring to my pre-strokes. Of course I've tried to straighten it and now I can't pocket the easiest shots.

It seems it just throws off my entire rhythm since I use it as a timing mechanism, it also keeps me more loose and relaxed while I'm in my stance, now I feel like a statue when I'm down on a shot. Worst thing is I can't seem to find it back. Damn this fickle game!
