Very cool, thanks for posting!! The interviewer pronounces his name the way I always thought it was pronounced but not too long ago I was told that it is pronounced Szam[boat]i. Which one is the correct pronunciation?!

Zack

P.S. If anyone knows where I can get a similar finished cue from Gus for $950 please let me know and I'll find the money! :D :D :D

This was an awesome video, thank you very-very much for posting!

As for Gus' name: I am Hungarian and I believe that Gus' has a Hungarian last name. We have the letter of 'Sz' and it is pronounced as an 'S' in English and we have many names ending with an 'i'. His name has to be pronounced as Sum[boat]i - if I had to write it down in English. I am sure about that :o)

By the way, Eugene Balner, maker of Palmer cues was Hungarian too!

The video is absolutely fantastic. I would guess it is late 70's? Barry could look in Gus's book to see what years a basic cue started at $325. I believe they were $350 in 1982.
