Video of me running 35 and 41 in straight pool

I decided to try the Cuetable contest for the first time today, and I started to warm up with some 14-1. I got completely lost in time, and when I had taped 1 hour (end of tape) I had two runs in 14-1 I wanted to keep.

Video of me running 35 (I think) in 14-1:
EDIT: only 1 minute ++ on the link... will try to upload again...

Video of me running 41 in 14-1:

Here's also a video of me running 3 consecutive racks in 9-ball:

Last time I put up a video here on AZ, of my 40 run, I got lots of comments from many of you posters. I felt it did good for my game, and any comments on my game, shot-routine, patterns etc are very welcome and highly appreciated!!!

Roy, ill try to find some time this weekend and give some comments.

thanks for uploading the video.

Today I ran a 42, on tape.

Funny thing is, when about to shoot on ball nr 43 and open up the pack the firealarm starts... :D

I heard it, thought "is that the firealarm?" and then missed the ball. Haha. I had just enough time to stand up if I wanted to, but I got so confused that I just shot, and of course I missed...

Oh well... New day tomorrow.

I am running 35-40s for every hour I am playing 14-1 these days, so I can't wait for my 75+ run to come... I can feel it coming, it's blowing in the wind... (And it sure is windy these days)

Will upload the 42 soon, and post it in this thread. It's a pretty beautiful run, if I can say so. Probably one of the best I have did, regarding patterns.

damn bro you must be big!

congrats on your consistant runs. i've only ran over 40 balls once but runs in the 20s aren't too uncommon for me these days. but runs under 10 aren't either so i guess i still need to work on it.

thanks for posting all the videos. it's good to see 14.1 played at a human level

42 ball run

I just watched the 42. Boy, that alarm came on just as you were shooting the break shot for 43.

Some thoughts to spark discussion:

I saw you used that draw with English that you were talking about on the opening break that was rather high and had a follow angle. When do you use high on your break shots? What angles or where on the rack?

On your second break shot, you had what I call a draw angle. Were you low on the rack? Did you use draw? The cue just came out to the side rail a little and died there which worked out fine.

On your third break shot, I guess you used draw. You ended up on the top short rail with a long shot that you made. The balls hadn't broken up much.

Not much to say about the racks themselves. You didn't waste much time. You took the balls off efficiently. The end of rack 2 you had to move the cue ball a bit to get where you wanted. shot at the bottom, then side shot, then another down on the bottom rail, then up to the side for the key ball.

End of the third rack, you got a little funny on the key ball to the key ball in the side but you then got good shape on the key ball and had a nice break shot before that damn alarm went off.

I'll peek at the others later.

I have seen both Thorsten and Niels open up the pack with the opening-shot I used, and it works great 8/9 out of 10 times. I normally use top-spin if the cueball will hit the two lowest balls in the pack, but it also depends if I will hit high or low on the ball in the pack. But I have had no teachers, so I don't know if I am doing wrong or right...

On my second break shot the cueball hit the bottom of the 2nd ball, so I used draw to get it in to the siderailCOLOR]

I used draw, but perhaps I should have used top-spin with right there, to go two rails and to the center? I am pretty bad at breakshots, so any comments about that is very helpful!

My biggest challenge yet is to slow down. Every time I watch myself play I can see that I am playing too fast. I really want to slow down, atleast a couple of times in each rack, to make sure that my plan is working...
Yeah, the cueball travelled some distance at the end of rack 2. I had the pink 4 as my "problem"-ball. It could only be pocketed in the right corner, but I had to get rid of some other balls first. I will try to put it up as a cuetable, and ask for suggestions how others would have finished it. That can be helpful

Thanks a lot for your comments! I was looking through the videos again now, because I am playing in a 14-1 league later today. Trying to get rid of some of my bad habits before that :D

If you are that consistant then you will break 100 or very near it 80's 90's but hopefully it comes during tournament so long as your rhythm in tournament play is the same as your rhythm in practice. One thing I must complement you on if you get into trouble you make some damn good shots to get out of trouble - especially when you shot that 5 ball (looked orange to me) up table and you were jacked up.

Ran another 39 and 36 yesterday, and a 35 and a 40 today. Got the 40 on tape, and will upload that too. I missed a very easy, almost straight forward shot into the sidepocket...

Now it seems like I am having a problem in my head... I can't get through that third rack... I have made 16 runs between 35 and 42 the last 6 days... When will I pass that magic number?

I am gonna go back to play some more now. Hopefully it works like the ketchup; when you finally are able to get it out of the bottle it won't stop.

I don't know, but I sure love that picture of her.

I myself have tons of runs in the 40's, ussually can hit 40 if I practice for an hour or two. But, I've only got 3 runs in the 60's and none in the 50's. I don't see that changing anytime soon, even tho' I will never give up.
