I've always wanted a cool vintage looking case but reborn in modern age and elegant. Sort of what my favourite watch Panerai is all about.
After Rusty did that first case for me it was without a doubt that he was the person to make that vintage WWII style case for me.
I opted for his squarish 2x3 style case as it resembles a leather tube that you would see being used during WWII era that was used to store maps, something telescopic or even a missile.....who knows....
I went with Cognac stained leather with silver hardware and white stitches, and told Rusty to use a piece of leather with some character (scars, scratches or marks..). I've owned watch straps in this colour and i know with time it'll age well and even if it scratches along the way it'll just give it more character.
I wanted Form with Function and personally a case without pocket for accessories wouldn't fit that criteria. However adding a pocket would be unsightly and spoil the form so i came up with this this double strap on style pocket, i doubt i'll ever remove it but the leather strap-ons really adds another layer of character to the case especially with the thick white stitching.
Originally there was suppose to be some tooling on this case but i eventually opted for the case to be simple and without tooling. Rusty does great tooling but i think he does even cooler colouring on leather and coupled with his clean and excellent workmanship that's all the case needs.
Rusty executed this case flawlessly and than some more...it's such a beauty and i've not seen another case with similar style.
So here it is...
