What's the difference between VIP and general admission? I will be there Wednesday-Saturday for the 9 ball and Fatboy. I am mainly interested in the action matches, but I want to catch the tournament matches as well.

Do you get a chair in VIP and not GA?

Also, where are players allowed to sit? I was considering playing the One Pocket, and would like to know if I just need to buy one VIP ticket for wifey..

You won't need a VIP ticket for the wife to watch you play, (or anyone else for that matter). The VIP tickets are mainly front row around the TV table. Usually, you can get a nice seat if you get there a few minutes before the players get there. Hope to say hello again Russ. Don't think you've been there since the last year of the Executive.

There's VIP and then there's VIP-TV. These are seats around the TV table. VIP-TV seats are the first row of seats on three sides around the TV table and are really up close. Regular VIP seats are the few rows in back of the VIP-TV seats on all four sides. Both VIP and VIP-TV seats are reserved for those who have paid for them. I don't know how strictly that's enforced. All the VIP-TV seats sell out early and each will have the purchaser's name on them.

To watch matches on any but the TV table all you need are general admission tickets. You can watch TV matches also but officially you'll have to stand off to the side of the seats or watch from the second floor.

T,

What I meant was if I buy into one of the tournaments, get put out quick, and am a spectator for the rest of the tourney, where am I allowed to sit?

I want a good seat for all 9 days, and want to figure out if I need to buy 1 or 2 VIP seats. I know I will need 1 for sure for the wife for the 9 days..

I guess what I am asking is.. What does an entry into one of the tournaments get you besides a shot at money?

Also, I was at the DCC the first year it was at the Horseshoe, I believe.

Buying into one of the tournaments does get you (and supposedly your wife) free admission throughout. I've only heard the wife gets free admission here on the forum, so I would double check that first with the folks running things.

I always thought the stands around the TV table were general admission. Never gave it a thought otherwise.

Hope that helps and see ya around!

VIP Seats, all have the person's name on them. TV-VIP Seats are on the table surrounding the TV table. The "bleacher" seats around the TV table are General Admission, UNLESS there is someone's name on the seat. I've always been able to find a empty seat in the TV arena area for any match, including the 9-Ball Finals. I believe the best view is from the side about 3-4 rows up. I usually try to find a open seat with a good view at least an hour before the 9-Ball Semi-finals starts, and HOLD it through the Finals. If you have a companion, they can watch it for you while you get beverages/snacks.

In the general area, around all the other tables, seating is pretty much un-restricted, although later in the week, they usually start checking for VIP passes for seating at the chairs right on the rail, but some seating is available behind a narrow aisle.

Have fun!

Thanks for the correction. I bought VIP last year and picked out my seat online and when I arrived that seat had my name on it. But I guess they don't sell all of them so they then become open to whoever gets there first. I think they are still officially VIP seats though, based on the diagram online.

I didn't know that the seats on the rail around other tables are also VIP seats. I thought all seats except those around the TV table were general admission.
