Visiting US

I think we need to settle it on a pool table....but, alas, there is nowhere to play other than Freezer's, apparently!

Biggest temperature change I ever experienced was driving from Flagstaff to Phoenix..
...in August....from 40 degrees to 106....in the shade. :crying:

The Golden Eightball was still there.

As a over the road truck driver this temperature change between Flagstaff and Phoenix seems to be a regular thing.

To get back on track...I was a road player once, somI wander sometimes...:)

Columbia, Missouri....Booches....from 1884...so they’re doing something right.
....an excellent reputation for food helps

Great question,,, if I were to visit this country I'd make sure I skipped Arizona (sorry).

I would make NYC the top of my list,,,, which of course would be easy for my favorite pool room.

Steinway Billiards.

Period.

That’s not really what I meant. I’ve been in this city plenty of times, and all over the country more times than I care to think about. There is a very active pool scene here, and lots of good people and places to play. In my opinion, this area is too isolated from the rest of the country, and far too hot to make a side trip to play some pool. There are nice pool halls all over this country, and many of them are much more accessible than Freezers.

This is kind of what I was trying to say in my first post.

OK, thanks, I understand now....but I still want to play you again sometime! I remember we played about 10 years ago in a ring game (Frederick, Maryland?) ... I guess your game has taken off since then while mine is still floundering in the gutter!

I have no plan on where i want to go, other than that i might end up at the US Open at the end of my trip. hopefully play a few tournaments leading up to it

Good place to be, the Us Open warm up event was great and they plan on doing it next year. they also have another tournament after the finals the next day.

We’ll definitely play again now that I’m semi settled down. My game has not had very much work since we played last. Hoping this new arrangement offers some consistent playing.

I think I see what you are getting at. You want to meander through the US, while visiting pool rooms and playing in tourneys. You will have to pick a starting point and once you do, I think more recommendations will come in. Also what games do you prefer? For instance if straight pool is your game, then NY (tri-state area) should be on your list.

For example, a trip traveling down the east coast NY to FL would be fun.

Take a look here for some ideas on pool rooms if you're into history ( not sure on current status of the rooms listed)

If your going to wind up in Va anyways, here are two that I've had my eye on next time I visit my family:

Idk if you did it on purpose but I think sept/oct is the two best month stretch in America basically with the us open bringing the worlds best players and all the tournaments benefitting from that leading up to the actual open. If theres a turning stone in your window it’s a must to go to and you should sign up as early as possible it usually fills up in advance
