I tried one of the Radio Shack multiple voltage converters on my Deluxe power feed and it worked great twice and then it fried, it was 1 1/2 v to 12 v but 300ma. The original was 3-5-6-7.5-9v and unknown milliamps and I belive also from Radio Shack, can anyone tell me a model number or brand to buy tomorrow and or what amperage is needed for the Dayton gearmotor.--Thanks--Leonard

They changed the part number, so I don't have the new part number, but you want the 1000ma version that goes from 3v to 12v.

I've been looking at changing mine to a different type. I found this on ebay and just bought one. Hopefully next week it will be in, and I'll let people now how it worked. It is digital, with readout, and a continously turning knob, so you can fine tune the speed, or slow it down or speedup as your doing the cutting. $34.75 with free shipping. Here's the link.

I wonder what it would cost just to convert to the new power feed screw.

It says that will put out 18 volts maximum. Be careful with top speed or you might could burn your motor up. The motor is only rated for 12 volts.

And those aren't a regulated supply, so there may actually be some AC in there also, and or have peaks at around 25-30 volts at times. That's why I went with a digitally controlled regulated supply with a readout. At least it will give a pretty accurate output reading.

I hooked up my new dc voltage controller and it works great. I now have a great amount of control of the speed with just the twist of the knob, and a digital readout:) I recommend it.

And as a side benefit, you can give yourself a tatoo for FREE!!
Thanks Dave.
