Vote for anyone except Austin Murphy

YEAH! The IPT should let AZ do the voting. I can assure you there won't be any fixing going on.

No way Joey, you and Mike now have a rap sheet for fixing:p :)

Every now and then I try to slip in a post without a smiley face.

I wasn't worried about you making a dent in the IPT. I was worried about you hurting yourself. I want the action report to do well also. I don't believe it's good business sense to sling mud at the IPT. You can believe that it won't put a dent in your business either but as a business man I believe that losing even one customer for no good reason is a mistake.

I could be wrong. No way of knowing. I like to express my feelings too but If I had business partners I would feel obligated to agree as a team that the decision to bash the competitor was a good business strategy.

Just because I have an interest in TAR does not mean I will not state my opinions. My feelings on the IPT have been loud and clear long before TAR was ever born.

If you think that the IPT is really good for pool then you and I simply disagree. Also if you expect me to pay lip service to an entity that screwed over friends, we disagree on that.

I hold no ill will towards players who choose to play in their events. They are professional pool players that is what they are supposed to do. They must make the money when the opportunities come up. I cant fault a guy for trying to eat. But there is a deep divide between the players and the organization.

The IPT are big boys. There is nothing I could ever say that would even make an impression or dent with them. But I will state my opinions when I feel the urge. Just as anyone here is free to express theirs on what TAR does.

Besides, ,what makes you think the voting is legit? If you go on the IPT's track record it does not inspire much confidence.

P.S. I sent this message 2 years ago but forgot to check the Saturday Delivery box.

If you don't want to vote for someone, then don't vote for them. You don't have to share it with the rest of us. Your posts are just mean-spirited.

Talk about reaching: Your ER surgeon analogy is ridiculous. For crying out loud, this isn't intended to be the championship of the world. I think you're giving this match more credit than it deserves.

We see the people in your list play each other all the time. This is a novelty type match.

As has been said before, if you want to see someone else, vote for them (or in your case, simply buy any one of a thousand DVD's of matches currently available from your list).

Frankly your list is like old news (e.g., Fisher vs. Corr, no offense) and I doubt that there would be appreciably more traffic resulting from those choices.

You want criteria?. How about picking the players with the most consistent performance during the last IPT full season?. These are players who have proven they deserve to be considered by performing at the highest level. Pick the top 10 ranked IPT players and let us vote between them.

Was Austin in the top ten, top twenty even?. He's currently ranked 150. If he wants to play with the big boys, he should be competing at the same level and finishing as such. The top ten players all won between 25-40 matches. Austin won 2. He didn't compete in as many, even more reason my point is valid.

I take issue with Austin campaigning for himself because I feel it's like a first year med student campaigning to be Chief ER surgeon. Underqualified, sorry, but I'm not gonna wear kid gloves on this one.

Now, let's take a look at the top 10 ranked IPT players.

1. Reyes, Efren
2. Hohmann, Thorsten
3. Morris, Rodney
4. Orcollo, Dennis
5. Immonen, Mika
6. Manalo, Marlon
7. Souquet, Ralf
8. Ortmann, Oliver
9. Bustamante, Francisco
10. Deuel, Corey

Now that is a list of proven champions I would vote from.

You may ask yourself why add such a long list to choose from?. Well, this means they will take a long time to whittle the players down to 2. All the different phases of voting create lots of traffic to the IPT website. More traffic means more advertising dollars. As it's been said elsewhere in this thread, this is about recouping KT's losses.

FWIW, I'd like to see Dennis Orcullo and Efren Reyes go at it. Don't know what the catchy title would be though.:)

Austin plays damn good, in fact I'd love to stake him against all these people badmouthing his ability. You all are making out like he cant play. He will run racks all over your asses, this I am certain of.

For all of you saying he is undeserving, you should be saying the same thing about Gerda and Foldes and stop bashing Austin who came on here and very politely asked for support.

No one says "Don't pick on Earl Strickland, he suffers from obvious mental illness".[/QUOTE]

That's actually funny! Nobody says it out loud, lol. I would still vote for Earl because he IS one of my favorite 9 ball players.

Thanks, that's now something tangible as what you would have liked as an alternative and it seems quite reasonable to me. The previous stance of just supporting someone else's suggestion of those "who had paid their dues" didn't quite cut it for obvious reasons already explained.

Then again, to play devil's advocate, when this new suggestion is read in tandem with the earlier one, those in positions 11-20, amongst others, would be a bit cheesed off at the roundabout (and no doubt completely unintended) possible conclusion that they somehow haven't paid their dues like 1-10 have.

I don't know austin personally....

I don't know Austin, so I want to be perfectly clear when I say that I am not trying to infer anything about him, but it has been my experience that when you have REALLY YOUNG talented kids and you put them in these situations where everyone is doting on them and lauding up their ability (a little prematurely in most cases) you turn them into royal egotistical asses. I personally think that
austin shouldn't be competing in somethjing like this yet. It's kinda like child stars. If you put them into the fray too early, they aren;t emotionally prepared to deal with the repercussions.

Actively taking a role in a negative campaign against him is not the same as advocating for someone else. In fact, your long list of your candidates is a good example of getting your point across without deprecating Austin.

You have a right to voice your opinion. But, in my view, taking the low road nets less support...

What support am I seeking?. I'm not sending petitions of writing emails to the IPT, just speaking my opinion. I'm well aware my opinion is meaningless in this issue. The IPT will have their dog and pony show either way.
Then why say anything at all...

If you aren't in it for the result, they you are just bashing because you can. Interesting.
