I'm no fan of the place, but admit to being guilty of doing business with them at times. I know I am the only one left..lol, but I long for the days of going to see pops down at pops hardware who actually gave a crap and treated each customer as a family member. I still shop at local butcher, but pops is gone and so is the local pharmacist.
The day of the small local and even regional retailers are all going away. Sure walmart is using outside companies now, but the goal is to take market share and eventually be the leader and do direct deals with manufacturers. I'll do my business with Nielsen's Billiards even if it cost more, he was helpful and honest. For the most part I would rather avoid the mass market faceless retailers, but so few old school business operators are left, so sad.
I think walmart is one of the worst things to happen to this country, it's only about margins, where can we cut a dime, how cheap can we make this product and get away with it, how little can we pay someone. And no they were not the first, but they redefined the idea and forced many a manufactures hand.
end rant...lol
