Want to rent a tad cue!!! :) :)

Great idea Mark! I hope someone helps you out. You are more than trustworthy in my book. I wish I had one for you to try...

Good Luck,
Chris

Thanks a ton, Chris. I'm hoping somebody can hook me up with a test drive on a Tad sometime soon. I was thinking I would try to find one at DCC...but work is gonna keep me away this year (just like last year...and the year before that...and the year before that).

I'd hate to have to wait until Valley Forge to try one out. I'm not so good in the patience department, ya know..... :) :)

I'm certain there's somebody with a nice Tad out there, willing to give 'ol Rat a chance to take some whacks with it. I mean, c'mon...this is me. What's not to love??!!??:grin:

A very merry X-mas to you and your beautiful family, boss.

Mark

I've had Tads & several Gus Szambotis & no 2 played the same. Best to hit balls with the cue you're looking to buy. A place like valley forge or derby city is great. Usually a lot of cues available.

I know you're right, sir. Unlike a bunch of other cues I've owned or tried...I've heard that Tad cues are very consistent with respect to their hit. Granted, different tips or retapered shafts can make a big difference...but I'm willing to take a shot (or dozens of shots) with one, just to be sure I want what I think I want.

Thanks a ton, and have a great holiday, sir.

Great minds think alike, I guess.

;)

For me that's the point. If you rent one you really only find out whether you want to own that one particular cue. I think the beauty of cues at least certain makers, Tad being one of them, you can always sell them close to where you bought them. Assuming the Tad I'm currently selling is worth the 2K I'm asking, say you buy it and play with one shaft for a week and don't like it. How much are you going to lose selling that cue a week later? How ever much that amount is, there's your rental. You risk whatever that amount and you gain the chance to evaluate the actual cue you are thinking about owning. For it to work, you have to do it with a cue you want to own. My current Tad might be a bad example as maybe the buy/sell delta would be larger going from "unused" to "95%".

Thanks

Kevin

Renting a cue is an interesting idea. There is a TAD for sale right here on AZ. There are some more on eBay.

I might have to make me a road trip to the next Valley Forge expo myself.
I've never been to a billiards expo like that.

Rental

Mark,
If I had one, you'd have it. What else you looking to try?
Alex.

Mark is as honest as they come. If I had a TAD, or Szamboti, or anything he wanted to try I wouldn't hesitate to send a cue his way.

Thanks again for the kind words, guys.

No PMs yet...

Bump to the top on this wonderful X-mas Eve!!!!

What the hell.....bump to the top!! :grin-square:

Still dying to get my hands on one for a test drive. Willing to compensate, and guarantee it shall be babied just like my Searing.

Mark <---TAD-less

I have a older Tad BEM with only one shaft and that shaft is about 11.75 MM. GREAT hitting cue ! I will be glad to loan it to you for the shipping expense if you can get along with the small tip? PM me your address ... I have to Mail another cue tomorrow.

p.m. sent for loan of my two TADS at no charge. THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT FOR SALE. Dennis Searing will be advised of this loan by me and Mark if the offer is accepted.

So

Hi all,

This very well might be the first "Want to Rent" thread on AZB...or, at least, the first I've seen!! :) :)

I'm still strongly interested in a Tad cue...and will likely try to find one at Valley Forge this coming Spring.

I figured, though, that I would probably be wise to try one out and make sure that the size/dimensions/hit is what I'm after.

I know I love the way they look. I know I like everything I've heard about them and their playability. I think I've hit a couple balls with one a couple/few years back...but I'd like to give one a few days in court before I make up my mind.

If somebody out there has a Tad player they'd be willing to let me try out for a couple weeks, I'd be more than happy to cover shipping costs (both ways) and compensate the owner for their time and trouble.

I take care of my cues (and other people's cues, too)...and can promise that your cue would be safe, sound, and out of harm's way.

I feel as though I should do my homework before I buy one...and thought THIS would be the best place to try for a test drive.

Thanks much for your time, PM me if you have one I could take for a spin, and a VERY Merry X-mas and Happy New Year to you all.

Mark

Would you rent out your Searing then?

If somebody with 40+ iTraders, close to 5 years of solid history on AZB, and a developed reputation of trust was wanting to try out my Searing...I would probably work with them to sort something out, yes.

Thanks much,

Mark

Why thank you :) You're welcome to try out anything I have.

I'm a fortunate owner of a Searing from a secondary market ... just waiting for it to come back from Dennis

Atleast I know there is a chance, although I have been here since before we got the new forums, the 40 plus itrader is going to take a long while as I just bought my second item the other day.

And as always, looking to buy a Searing too.
