WANTED: Brunswick Titlist

Hi guys and gals,

I'm looking for a good quality 1 piece brunswick titlist. I'm not too picky about the woods used, but quality is important, so no oak and I hate purpleheart.
The cue has to be dead-straight.
I'm willing to buy or trade!

p.s. I'm not looking for an allready converted cue.

thanks for any help/offers!

What are you willing to spend for a good "quality" - "dead-straight" Titilist ?

Dick Abbott’s billiardcue.com lists one piece original Titlist cues in various weights, lengths and woods at $500 each.., he also lists two new old stock Titlist at $600 each.

Check out http://www.billiardcue.com/cues.php?view=1&search_letter=b .

Thank you for the link. I have e-mailed them yesterday and I'm sure they will reply soon. I'm also looking for more options up to 700 dollars.

Just curious, anyone have any old brunswick catalogs that show what they use to charge for one piece titlist cues?

Oh how sweet it would be to be able to call and order say a dozen 20-21oz ebony, purpleheart and rosewood titlists .

7 one piece Titlist recently sold for $2.2K on eBay ... the prices are on upward bound!!!

from the 1950 Bruns Equipment catalog - assume these are _wholesale_

1 pc Titlist $6.00
1 pc Hoppe $15.25 <with the ivory ring>

a Tru-Balance 1 pc was $3.20,
2 pc Master Stroke $9.75

I happen to know that 14 years later, the Wholesale for a Hoppe
was only $18.75, retail was $25.00

also listed in 1950

Ivory ferrules were 40 CENTS each <they used the term 'points'>
Buckhorn was 25 cents

I thought it was 2.55K

6$ in 1950, 25$ in 1964, heck that´s more than I thought!

Thanks for the links so far, I´m still looking! To be extra clear I´m looking for a 1 piece Titlist.

@krbsailing that particular titlist is very heavy and has the black ferrule. I would prefer around 19-20 oz. and white ferrule. Thanks anyway!

Thanks again krbsailing, I might do that.

I'm no authority on Titlists, does anyone think it might be optimistic to look for a dead-straight one?

If you are converting, you only need it to be straight for 30 inches for full-splice, less if you plan on having a handle added so that you can show off more of the points. Also, I would not toss oak out of the equation - the oak conversions come out beautiful and they are not common. If you are interested in the one I have (we think it's ipe), pm me. My plan was to polish around the label, add a fibre butt with Hoppe ring, and a short ivory joint with 3/8x10 pin, then use my Frey shafts for it: http://oldsplice.homestead.com/Hoppe101.JPG

This cue has a label that dates from 1941-45 (the oldest) with the stamped Willie Hoppe signature that is also different from the ones that came after - the "H" curls at both ends on the left side.

pardon my keyboarding:

the amt for a Hoppe in 1950 was a 2pc
1964 - $25.00 was retail for a 2 pc Hoppe, not a Titlist
retail for a Titlist in 1964 would have been, I'm guessing, maybe
$10 - $12
