Rags To Rifleman

I have one I would part with for a good price. Shoot me an offer. I bought it new and have read it three times. Never gets old.

Back cover has a crease in it, not bad. Overall in pretty good shape. I can send pictures if interested.

Thanks,
Greg

Very Helpful

There are 2 for sale on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...&s=books&qid=1291271056&sr=1-2&condition=used

pricey though.

Also available on Barnes and Noble under collectable books.

might be available through interlibrary loan if you just want to read it.

Thanks for the info! Before I shell out some $$ or put this (expensive) book on my list to Santa, can I get some piece of mind from people that read this book?

Is it in depth and well written , or is it a disappointment in any way :frown:?

Thanks for the replies.

Most of the book stores do not have the actual copies of these rarer books, they have collectors like myself who have contacted them with an offer to sell at a price and then they add a commission for advertiseing and their name.
Actually the 109.00 price at Amazon is pretty low. This book has been selling for 250 to 300 till the last year or so.
I enjoyed the book, I actually had a chance to sit and talk to Buddy and Woody when they were first promoting the book for a couple of hours at a tournament. I had a bunch of old photos and they enjoyed going through them with me.
They both signed the book to me personally and it is one of the ones I will keep as long as I live.
Hope this helps.

Book Review

It is a fairly well written book and expect a lot of reading since the font is really small. The book could easily have twice the number of pages. It has a lot of stories that keep you turning page after page. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

You CAN NOTgo wrong in getting this book if you love some of the more recent history in pool and gambling in the US as well as Buddy Hall. I got mine in very good shape for $60 and it was already signed by Buddy and Woody. I have read it probably 10 times and it never gets old. You will love it!

I have a copy that is in perfect condition from woodys wife signed. Great read if not the best on pool, would not take anything less than $500.;)

I found one in second look books in MD. for $1.50 i'll take $1,000,000.00 + S&H ..l.o.l.

Thanks for the generous offer.
I was about to pull the trigger on your copy until I found another signed copy for $495.00

Thanks though....

IMHO, gives all the other pool books the Orange Crush. Well maybe just the last two to Pool Wars. Anxiously awaiting JAM's bio about Keith.

Glad to hear all the positive comments about Rags to Rifleman. I'm a big Buddy Hall fan (how can you not be?) but didn't want to spend the $$ if it was going to be a disappointment.

I found and purchased one on line today. More than I wanted to spend but the positive reviews gave me the push I needed, thanks to those that responded for that !

I also can't wait for Jen's book on Keither! Keith and Earl have been my two favorite players since the mid 80's when pool 1'st came on my radar.
A book on Earl's life I hear is also in the works!
