Hello,

I am looking for a good first cue for my 11 year old son. He has starting to play and is interested in his own cue. I got him a one piece Dufferin shorty, but he has out grown that.

Any suggestions?

Your budget?

It is best to know your budget, since that will really help in suggestions for you. Budget is everything, and with the economy the way it is, you may be able to get the best bang for your buck.

Just a suggestion, since many people here can help you out with a great deal for a cue your son will love, and allow him to continue to improve his game.

He is growing fast. I not sure of his wingspan, but I think he could handle Full size cue
maybe a little shorter.

Probably around $200 or so.

cue for son

I would say a regular size cue 57-58 inchs long in the 18 oz range with a linen wrap would be a good fit for him, I think he would do well with this, I went through the same thing with both my sons. If you have a local retail outlet that sells pool tables close to you I would suggest a visit , they usually offer some cues for sale and will usually let you try one out without chalking it of course and see what he thinks about the feel, Then go from there! Good luck!

I have a predator conversion that rick Howard put a pin in and made a shaft for it. I bought it from nick Serdula for $250 but if you want it for your son I will let you have it for $175 and that cue will last him a long time.
Thanks

That is good he wants to take up the game pm me a weight and does he have a case and a break cue ? let me know i'll put him in a combo deal shooting cue, break cue and case for a very good price . pm me .

Thank you.
But I leaning towards full cue not starter.

No problem, but it is a full cue, 58" and two piece. I'm guessing they call it starter cue is because it's no frills and inexpensive. Let me know if interested, but I understand if you're not. This cue is new.

a friend of mine just had a coker built for his son. it's a j/b but he had an extra bumper area made to fit so it looks like a regular cue but shorter if it's broken down. does that make sense? it's a little hard to explain

A little late...

I know the thread is old, but I bought my son an old Helmstetter that hits lights out. Again, it is an old one...honey wood, nice, straight stiff shaft. The main thing is that the ferrule is 11.86mm and fits nicely for him to make a good, stable closed bridge. After shooting for his first year, I had it refinished and it looks absolutely beautiful now!

Old Mint Mali

I still have that mali i told you about if you are still interested in it let me know thanks.:thumbup:
